Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 150: Pack Meeting

Alpha Theron's POV

As I sat at my desk in my office, facilitating a Pack meeting, my mind kept drifting to Astrid. She still had not woken up, even after I had given my blood in a desperate attempt to save her.

I was glad when her body had no adverse effects on my blood. I believe with all my heart that she is my daughter, but the fact that she was born with pure omega blood made me fear that my strong blood could cause adverse effects on her body.

It is bad luck that everything happened yesterday, and today happened to be Monday. Meetings are scheduled every Monday morning.

Even though my body is still feg weak because of the amount of blood that I donated, I cannot skip today's meeting.

Astrid had lost a lot of blood, and I was the only donor who could give her all the blood that she needed.

They had no choice but to continue drawing my blood three times more than the normal amount of blood that my body can normally give because if not, all my efforts of giving my blood would be put to waste.

Luckily, though, Andros and Asha weren't there to stop me. If they were, I'm afraid they would have forcefully taken me out of the emergency room if they saw how pale and weak I looked with the amount of blood that I gave.

Of course, I had to make everyone swear to me in secrecy. I can't let my two children know what I did, or they will get very angry at me.

"Alpha Theron, we have a concerning rift developing within our Pack," Beta Alek spoke up, making me look at him.

"Speak," I commanded.

His gaze swept across the others with a frown creasing his brow. "Several of our hunters have been returning from patrols with clashing beliefs and growing dissent among the ranks. Some are advocating that we should be more aggressive to other Packs, while others call for a more diplomatic approach."

Beta Alek paused his expression grave. "If this continues, this conflict can threaten to divide our Pack and cause rebellion against the Alpha. We must resolve this issue before it escalates."

Alek was discussing a pack matter that required my decision, but his words seemed distant, muffled by my defeating thoughts of Astrid's condition.

I forced myself to concentrate, but with my weak state, it was hard for me to do so. I could only hear and understand some snippets of Beta Alek's words.

"This is a serious matter," I spoke unsurely when Beta Alek was done with his words. "Our Pack has been through many storms and has always emerged stronger for it, but that strength came from our unity. I will not allow this conflict in the Pack. There is no room for division amongst the Shadowfang Pack."

Everyone stared at me like they were expecting me to say more. I froze up, not knowing what else was there to say because I didn't catch everything Beta Alek said.

"Then what do you think, Alpha?" our Pack's Gamma asked.

"What do I think?" I scratched my chin as if I was deep in thought.

"Should we be more aggressive, or should we take a diplomatic approach?" Beta Alek asked.

"Of course, we should go for a diplomatic approach," I answered, shocking everybody. Our Gamma even looked at me like I had two heads.

"I know we can easily win if we

the Packs, there's no one that can stand against us, but with what happened to the Emberwood Pack, we can't let that happen again," I paused, allowing my words to sink in?

"The rogues are acting up, haven't you noticed? It's better that we save our energy, especially now that we have no idea what really happened to the Emberwood Pack yet," explained my reasoning in a clear, decisive manner.

Everyone seemed satisfied with my judgment, and the meeting began to wind down. "Meeting is adjourned!" I formally closed the meeting when no one had no longer else to say.

Finally, I could leave and visit Astrid. After I was done giving my blood yesterday, I felt so exhausted that I fell asleep. When I woke up, I had no choice but to go directly to my office to facilitate the meeting.

I haven't seen Astrid since yesterday. I had no idea how she was doing right now.

As I stood up, intending to make my way to her, a sudden wave of dizziness overcame me. I grabbed the edge of the table, steadying myself.

"Alpha, are you alright?" Someone rushed beside me and grabbed my arm to keep me upright.

When I looked up, I saw Alek with worry and concern etched on his face. Everyone else had left already.

I blinked to clear the haze that settled over me. "I... I'm fine," I stammered, cursing my moment of weakness. "Do you have any news about Astrid?"

Alek's brows furrowed at my answer, but he knew better than to argue with me. "Astrid has stabled Alpha. She's going to be alright. We are just waiting for her to wake up." Gently, Alek guided me back to my chair and hurriedly fetch me water. After feg refreshed, I gazed back at Beta Alek again to discuss what had been bothering my mind.
