Chapter 151: Father’s Love
Alpha Theron's POV
I stared at Alek, who had always been loyal to me. I had no problems with Alek; he is always good at whatever job you give him. Not only that, but I could also trust him with everything, even though we weren't really that close. That's right, Alek and I weren't really close, and it's because I wasn't really born as an Alpha. I may have been born with pure Alpha blood, but the Alpha position was my older brother's by birthright.
Alek had that special bond with my older brother and not me. In fact, Alek is years older than me; he is the same age as my brother.
They were perfect. They were best friends growing up, and they were destined to help each other and lead the Pack as the Alpha and Beta of the Pack.
Meanwhile, I was the black sheep of the family. I was the neglected child. I was that child that no one wanted.
Finding no place in our Pack, I grew up outside the Pack, where I also met Drystan and then Astrid's mother.
Alek and my older brother soon received their titles on the same day. They became the Alpha and Beta of the Pack, and it was perfect.
Until my brother died, and I was called to come back to become my brother's substitute for everything.
Even though I was nothing like my brother and Alek, and we were practically strangers, Alek respected me and helped me do my duties as an Alpha.
I never heard any complaints from him. He had always supported me and was always patient with me.
Since we were never friends before this, our relationship was formal, but through the years that we've been working together, we slowly grew close together.
With that, I am convinced to trust him with a secret about Astrid.
"Alek, don't you think something is strange about Astrid?" I asked him.
Alek suddenly looked at me with apprehension. "Sure, Alpha. It's strange that she doesn't have your blood. Yet, yesterday, she was able to take your blood perfectly fine," Alek replied, making me nod my head. His answer is what I was perfectly thinking of.
"Alek, I need you to do something for me. Among everyone else, you know that you are the one I trust the most. You can't let anyone know about this. You must personally do this task," I stared into his eyes as I spoke the words with utmost care. Alek nodded his head. "Of course, Alpha. You can trust me. I'll do my best."
Upon hearing his positive response, I finally proceeded. "I want you to look for anyone like Astrid, a person born from a pure-blooded Alpha and a pure-blooded Omega."
Alek's eyes widened when he heard
what I was asking him to do. "Alpha,"
he blurted out. "Where could I find I what you are looking for? There had never been any case like that. Aside
from Astrid, there's no one else that could be born like her."
I shook my head, not agreeing with his words. "For sure, there would be someone. You just have to find carefully-"
"Alone and in secret?" Beta Alek shot back. "This is more difficult than finding a needle in the haystack."NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
I sighed, unable to argue against his words. Beta Alek is right. I was giving him a task that was too difficult and impossible to do.
A relationship between an Alpha and Omega is unheard of, much more of a two of them having a child together.
This is just impossible. Werewolves typically get paired with a mate that is on the level of their status.
Alphas and Omegas being mates are myths that just don't happen, and no Alphas in their right minds would fall in love with someone beneath them.
It's like a King falling in love with an outcast or a princess falling in love with a frog. That just doesn't happen in real life.
I know that's what Beta Alek is thinking right now, but if it happened to me, then it's possible that it happened to many others, too. No one just knew about it, and it's Alek's job to look
"Alek, this is the only way we can understand Astrid's condition and help her. If we find someone who has the same condition as her, then we will be able to understand what's truly wrong with her," I said earnestly, hoping that Alek would
take on this task.
Aside from Alek, there's no one else I could give this task to. Besides, Alek is the most capable person I know. He is the only one who has the chance of pulling this off.
And I know whatever secrets or bad things he may find, he will never place Astrid in danger, and he will never tell anyone about this.
"What if..." Alek suddenly paused. "What if we found something we shouldn't have. What are you going to do?" Alek asked as if he already had an idea of what we were going to find.
I swallowed hard and looked away
from him. "Astrid is my daughter, and it's my job to protect her. The reason why I asked you to do this is so that we could protect her and know how to help her," I answered his question with determination in my eyes.
"No matter what, our Pack will always stand by Astrid to protect her," I added, ending this discussion with him.
