I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 392

One Is Enough for Us

Benjamin didn't see it that way. He squinted at Harper and said in his tone cold and displeased, "So if I can't get out of something last minute, that just conveniently works for you, doesn't it?" "If you insist on seeing it that way, there's nothing I can do," Harper replied.

Her light words chilled the atmosphere even further.

They looked at each other. Harper's lips were tightly pressed, and after half a minute, she said softly, "If you're willing to come with me, then get up and get ready now." After the check-up, Harper still had to visit the construction site.

She glanced at Benjamin, who showed no sign of movement. She remained silent for a few seconds, then went to the dressing room to change her clothes.

When she came out, Benjamin was ready.

Since Harper was skipping breakfast, Benjamin decided to ignore it as well and told Angie, who was preparing breakfast, "No need for breakfast today."

Angie quickly acknowledged and busied herself with other tasks.

Harper looked at him and said, "I'm not eating, but you can."

"No need," Benjamin replied flatly.

He was clearly angry, and Harper could tell, but she ultimately said nothing.

Upon reaching the hospital, Harper took the initiative and said, "Let's go straight to the doctor."

Everything was prearranged, so there was no need to queue or register.

Benjamin accompanied her throughout, and they took the elevator to the doctor's floor.

The hospital was bustling at that hour, with people rushing every which way Just as Harper and Benjamin stepped out of the

elevator, a man running in a medical form collided with Harper's right shoulder.

Cursing, he barked. "Why don't you watch where you're going?"

Harper nearly lost her balance and almost fell to the ground, leaning heavily to one side.

Fortunately, Benjamin's strong arms caught her just in time to prevent a fall.

His gaze was icy as he looked at the man. "Are you blind?"

His voice was as cold as frost, brief but intimidating enough to silence anyone who heard it.

The man froze, quickly realizing he was confronting someone not to be trifled with, and hurriedly apologized.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Yet Benjamin wasn't ready to let it slide. He said, "The person you should be apologizing to isn't me." His tone was indifferent.

Realizing his mistake, the man immediately turned to Harper. "Miss, I'm really sorry."

"If a simple apology is enough to account for your actions, then can I do the same?"

Benjamin's handsome face was filled with a cold fierceness.

Harper quickly grabbed his arm and whispered, "I'm fine. Let's go see the doctor first. It'll be a long wait once more people arrive." Benjamin was reluctant to let the matter go, but Harper insisted on not pursuing it further, pointing out that it was an accident after all.

Eventually Benjamin heeded

Harper's wish, not leaving her side for a moment. Holding her hand, he followed her steps toward the doctor's office.

The check-up took nearly an hour to complete.

It was a tough day for Harper, who vomited several times during the process. Benjamin watched her with a grave expression, deep emotion swirling in his eyes, and his voice was husky. "Let's not have any more children after this. Just the one is enough for us."

As he spoke, he leaned in to kiss her ear gently and then tenderly pulled her into his arms, holding her close.
