Chapter 744: What if it Can Be Kept?

Freddy hesitated, looking at the sleeping Bonnie, before finally responding, "I won't go back. Old Mr.

Cooke will worry."

"Then I'll have Zane take you back," Yanis suggested.

Freddy declined, "No need, I'll take a cab. There are cars outside the hospital."

Zane stood up, "I'll drive you back. I have some things to take care of anyway."

After speaking, Zane glanced at Yanis, "I'll be back in a bit."

Yanis nodded in agreement, not questioning Zane's matters.

After Zane left, Yanis didn't wake Bonnie up. She placed the packed food aside and slowly left the

hospital room. Due to her leg injury, Yanis walked slowly.

She asked the reception desk for directions and headed straight to the obstetrics department.

At this hour, the doctors hadn't finished work yet.

When Yanis entered, there were still people inside the consultation room. Yanis waited outside until the

person came out before going in.

"Hello, I have a question. If anesthesia was administered before knowing about the pregnancy, can the

baby still be kept?" Yanis inquired.

The doctor listened to Yanis and asked, "Was it local anesthesia?"

"It should be local anesthesia, in the shoulder area," Yanis explained Bonnie's situation truthfully to the

doctor.

"In this situation, the possibility of an impact cannot be ruled out. However, if it was local anesthesia, it

depends on the dosage used and the specific anesthesia drug. In the case of local anesthesia, if the

amount used was not significant, it is possible to continue the pregnancy as the effects are minimal

compared to other methods." The doctor explained the pros and cons to Yanis in detail.

After listening to the doctor, Yanis nodded, "Can we do some tests later tonight then?" Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"No problem, but did the anesthesia take place in our hospital?" the doctor inquired.

"Yes, it was done in this hospital. Can you find out which anesthesia drug was used?" Yanis asked.

The doctor nodded, "Yes, I'll go and ask the surgical department about the dosage and the drug used.

We'll perform a routine check-up once she wakes up, and regular examinations will be necessary in the

future to avoid any unforeseen issues. However, local anesthesia has minimal impact, so there's no

need to worry excessively."

Yanis thanked the doctor and left the obstetrics department, returning to the hospital room.

When Yanis arrived, Bonnie had already woken up. Seeing Yanis enter, Bonnie asked, "You still have a

wound on your leg. Where did you go alone?"

Yanis approached and sat on the chair by the bed, "I was just wandering around. Why don't you get

some more sleep?"

Bonnie shifted her body, "It hurts a bit. I can't sleep."

Yanis looked at Bonnie and suggested, "Should I help you..."

She paused mid-sentence, her tone changing, "Never mind, endure it for now. It might be the

aftereffects of the anesthesia. It might get better after a while."

Bonnie agreed, "Okay. How's your leg injury? Don't keep running around. You might reopen the wound

and leave a scar."

Yanis nodded, "I understand. Do you want to change your position and lie down?"

"I don't feel like lying down right now. I want to sit," Bonnie said, propping herself up on her arm and

sitting at the edge of the bed. The hospital gown grazed against the wound on her back, causing

Bonnie to hiss in pain. "I'll take some painkillers. It's not good to endure it like this."

Yanis glanced at Bonnie's face upon hearing her words, "You can't take medication indiscriminately."

In fact, Yanis had wanted to suggest Bonnie take some painkillers earlier, but she thought about Bonnie

being pregnant, so she stopped halfway.

Bonnie let out an exclamation after Yanis reminded her, "Oh, I forgot about that. But the anesthesia has

already been administered, so why does it matter? Yanis, can you go ask the nurse for some

painkillers? The pain is unbearable."

Yanis remained seated on the chair, looking at Bonnie without moving. "Are you sure about this?" she

asked.

Bonnie didn't meet Yanis' gaze and avoided eye contact. "I've made up my mind. Anyway... anyway,

the anesthesia has already been given, so I definitely can't keep it."

"What if you could keep it? Have you thought about not giving him up?" Yanis asked.

Upon hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie fell silent.

After a long pause, Bonnie finally looked at Yanis and said, "Yanis, I don't know. I don't know if I should

keep him. I don't want him to ask me in the future why he doesn't have a father. I don't want him to face

judgment from others, and I don't want him... I don't want him to grow up like me. And even if he stays,

there's no guarantee that he'll have the same luck as me."

Even though Isabel didn't take care of her back then, Freddy left Manches City, but Bonnie had the Old

Mr. Cooke by her side.

But if this child were to stay, then it would only be her.

She couldn't guarantee that she would have enough time to accompany him as he grew up because

life had to go on. You pick up one thing, and you have to let go of another. There's nothing in life that

can have it all, let alone having both the fish and the bear's paw.

Bonnie didn't know if she could have it all, but she couldn't guarantee it.

Yanis listened to Bonnie's words, unsure of how to respond for a moment. She didn't know how to

persuade Bonnie.

The matter of the child was not trivial. It involved Bonnie's entire life and the child's future.

"So, Yanis, I really don't know if I should keep this child," Bonnie said.

Yanis reached out and held Bonnie's hand, speaking softly, "Are you planning to tell Myles?"

"If I say that this child isn't Myles', would you believe me?" Bonnie asked.

Upon hearing this, Yanis forgot to control her facial expression and stared at Bonnie in astonishment.

"What did you say?" she exclaimed.

"I said, this child isn't Myles', do you believe me?" Bonnie repeated her words.

Yanis took a moment before managing to force a laugh and responded to Bonnie's statement, "The

child... isn't Myles'?"

Bonnie nodded, then shook her head immediately. "I don't know."

Yanis looked at her. "Bonnie, what exactly happened?"

Bonnie took a deep breath and briefly explained the situation to Yanis, "I was busy for a while because

I was working with a wedding planning company. We got along well, and after successfully finalizing

the collaboration, we went out to dinner together one night. I had a bit too much to drink that night, and

I genuinely don't remember what happened next, but when I woke up the next day, I was in a hotel."

Bonnie paused for a few seconds and then continued, "He wasn't awake yet at that time, and we... we

weren't wearing anything."
