Aurora nodded, "So you guys are into this too?"
Sandy chuckled, "Of course! It's addictive, you know?"
The two of them whispered and chatted for a while, while Stella and Yanis tried to eavesdrop but
couldn't make out what they were saying.
After finishing their meal, Sandy still wanted to chat with Aurora, but Aurora declined her kind invitation,
explaining that she had to go to No. 3 Hospital to take care of Maya.
"Well then, I'll come find you next time to hang out," Sandy said, not insisting and leaving with Stella.
After Stella and Sandy left, Yanis looked at Aurora. "I'll take you there."
"Isn't it out of your way?" Aurora asked.
"It's okay. I've already told your brother that I'm with you," Yanis replied, leading the way towards the
parked car.
Aurora followed Yanis. "Yanis, let me treat you to a meal another day."
Upon hearing Aurora's words, Yanis turned her head and asked, "Treat me to a meal?"
Aurora nodded. "Bring my brother along too."
Yanis agreed, "Sure."
Yanis dropped Aurora off at the entrance of No. 3 Hospital, watching her go inside before driving
towards D-king Castle.
On the way, when they reached a traffic light with seven or eight seconds remaining on the red signal,
Yanis decided to go ahead and cross.
But just as she stepped on the accelerator, a white Audi suddenly switched lanes from the right without
signaling and at a high speed.
Despite Yanis quickly reacting and stepping on the brake, she still collided with the rear of the other car.
Due to the inertia, Yanis was jolted forward, and the steering wheel pressed against her abdomen,
causing her to furrow her brows.
After a few seconds, Yanis regained her composure. Before she could get out of the car, the other
driver had already gotten out and walked over to knock on Yanis's window.
Yanis pursed her lips, opened the car door, and stepped out.
Just as she was about to speak, the other person apologized first, "I'm sorry, I was a bit distracted just
now. I saw a child in front, so I suddenly changed lanes. It's my fault."
The person's attitude was sincere and proactive, leaving Yanis momentarily speechless. After the
person finished speaking, Yanis glanced at the rear of the collided car. "Let's call the police first."
"I suggest settling it privately. I'll bear the cost of repairing your car. It's late, so let's not bother the
police, okay?" the person suggested.
Yanis hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "Okay."
Afterwards, Yanis took out her phone from the car and called Zane.
The call connected almost instantly. "Yanis?"
"I'm at the first traffic light intersection near the entrance of No. 3 Hospital. Can you come pick me up?"
Yanis didn't mention the car accident on the phone, not wanting Zane to worry. So she simply said that.
"Weren't you having dinner with Stella and the others? Why did you end up at No. 3 Hospital?" Zane
asked.
"Just come and pick me up. I'll wait for you here," Yanis said.
"Alright, wait for me."
Yanis hung up the phone, turned to the man standing by the car, and said, "Leave me your contact
information, and someone will come to tow the car."
It was the other party's fault, and Yanis found the person to be straightforward in their conversation, so
she didn't bother reporting the incident to the police.
"Okay, no problem," the person said, pulling out a business card from their pocket. "Here's my card. If
there's anything else, you can call me directly."
Yanis took the offered business card.
Adam Bennet, CEO of Prime Tech.
After Yanis finished reading it, she provided Adam with her own phone number.
"Miss Thompson, I've already arranged for someone to come pick you up. Once the car is repaired,
they'll deliver it to you," Adam said in a low voice after saving Yanis's phone number.
Yanis responded, "No need. Just let me know when it's fixed, and I'll come to see it."
"No worries. I'll contact you once it's repaired," Adam said, then looked at Yanis. "Are you hurt? Do you
need to go to the hospital for a check-up or anything?"
"No, I'm fine."
"Good then. If there's any problem, feel free to contact me. This is my fault, after all."
Yanis nodded and remained silent.
The impact on the steering wheel earlier had made her a bit uncomfortable, but she could bear with it.
Adam's assistant arrived quickly.
"Miss Thompson, please take out any important belongings from the car. We'll have it towed for
repairs," the assistant said.
Yanis complied, taking down the brochures and notebook from the car and handing the keys to the
assistant. "Thank you."
Before letting the car be driven away, Adam took out his ID from his own car. "Miss Thompson, could
you take a picture of my ID? That way, you'll feel more at ease."
Yanis glanced at Adam's face upon hearing his request, not quite understanding his intention.
Seeing Yanis's slight confusion, Adam explained, "Aren't you worried that we might do something bad
with your car when we take it away?"
After hearing Adam's words, Yanis smiled faintly and said, "I believe Mr. Bennett is not that kind of
person."
Adam chuckled, pocketed his ID, and looked at the person standing by the car, instructing, "Go ahead."
Once the assistant drove Yanis's car away, Adam turned to Yanis and asked, "Is someone coming to
pick you up?"This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
"I... my husband is coming to pick me up," Yanis replied.
Upon hearing Yanis's response, Adam raised an eyebrow. "I didn't realize Miss Thompson was already
married."
Yanis nodded and didn't say anything more.
"Well, I'll wait here with you until your husband arrives," Adam offered.
Yanis glanced at the time on her wrist and said, "No need. You can go ahead. He should be here
soon."
"Are you worried that your husband might misunderstand?" Adam asked with a playful glint in his eyes.
Yanis met Adam's gaze, also with a hint of amusement. "He tends to get jealous easily."
Adam chuckled and said, "Alright then. We'll be in touch."
Yanis nodded.
Adam didn't linger any longer. After bidding farewell to Yanis, he got into his car and drove away.
After Adam left, Yanis stood by the roadside with her belongings, waiting for Zane to arrive.
Yanis waited for about five or six minutes before Zane's car pulled up beside her.
Zane got out of the car and walked over to Yanis. "Why are you standing here? Where's your car?"
"I had a rear-end collision just now, so the car was taken for repairs," Yanis explained.
Upon hearing Yanis's words, Zane immediately checked if she was injured.
"Are you hurt?" Zane took the things from Yanis's hand and pulled her into a hug. "Are you really
okay?"
"I'm fine. The other party is fully responsible," Yanis reassured him, returning the hug.
"What about the other person?" Zane asked, holding Yanis with one hand while driving with the other.
He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "You're really unharmed?"
"No, let's get in the car first. It's not a good place to park," Yanis whispered.
Zane nodded, turned around, and opened the car door for Yanis to get in first.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Zane asked as he sat in the car, driving and talking to Yanis at the
same time.
