Chapter 312
Chapter 312
Their car drove back to the villa.
A few days ago, when Skylar instructed people to clean the villa, he requested that they build an
inclined cement slope on the other side of the stairs so that it would be convenient for him to move
around in his wheelchair.
Since Skylar's legs hadn't recovered yet, the upstairs level was off-limits. After returning home, Skylar
could only stay in the bedroom on the ground floor.
Coralie took a set of pyjamas for him and helped him change. She stood by the bed and asked
tentatively, "I've learned a massage technique on the Internet recently. Can you be my experimental
subject?"
In fact, Coralie had been doing research on the Internet over the past few days. She heard that
massages were beneficial to the recovery of the nervous system. Therefore, Coralie specifically found
a lesson on the Internet and studied it. She planned to try it out on Skylar on the weekend, but she
didn't expect him to come back so early.
"Sure."
Skylar agreed.
He also knew that Coralie must have learned it for his sake.
Skylar was lying on the bed while Coralie was kneeling on the other side of the bed. She first
massaged Skylar's left leg. Her technique was not like a professional's and her strength was not
focusing on the right points either. However, since Skylar's legs were bereft of any sensation, he
couldn't feel anything.
What he could see was Coralie kneeling there and massaging his legs seriously.
"Does it hurt?" Coralie massaged for a few times before she asked Skylar. However, as soon as the
words left her mouth, she realized that she had said something wrong and immediately changed her
words, "That's not what I mean."
"I'm fine, it doesn't hurt."
With his gentle eyes, Skylar looked at her serious expression.
He watched as Coralie strenuously massaged his legs. After massaging his left leg, she switched to the
right.
After a while, Coralie seemed to feel that there was no reaction from Skylar, so she said, "Actually, I've
just learned it for the first time. My skill is not up to par. When I get a better hold of it, I'll massage you
again. You might have to make do for now."
Coralie was already panting when she spoke. Although Skylar couldn't sense it, he could tell that
Coralie was trying hard to exert more strength.
"When my legs are recovered, I will take you around the world. You can go anywhere you want in the
world and I will accompany you."
Skylar said.
Since there was a reaction in his toes before, it gave him hope and allowed him to know that his legs
could be recovered.
Coralie didn't know that his legs were showing slight improvement. In order to prevent Skylar from
feeling burdened, she wiped off her sweat and turned to look at him with a smile. She said, "As long as
you're there, I'll be happy wherever I am."
The massage took about an hour, and Coralie was hunched the entire time. When it was over, she
almost could not straighten her upper body.
Seeing how exhausted she was, Skylar was about to get down the bed to help her.
"What do you want to do? Let me help you," Coralie stopped him.
"No, I can do it myself," Skylar said.
"It's okay, it's okay. Do you want some water? I'll get it for you!"
Coralie had always felt that it was an arduous process for Skylar to get from the bed to the wheelchair.
She propped herself with her hand on the bed, trying to stand up. She wanted to head to the kitchen,
but she had been hunching for too long. As soon as she stood up all of a sudden, she lost her balance
and bumped into the door.
"Ouch..." Coralie held her head and whispered.
"Are you okay?"
Skylar had never been this fed up with his legs until now. He saw when Coralie was about to hit the
door and his first reaction was to get out of bed and pull her back, but when he tried to move his legs,
he realized that he couldn’t control them.
"It's alright, it's alright," Coralie reassured him and did not dare to rub her head anymore. She stood up
slowly, opened the door, and went to the kitchen to boil water.
When she was waiting for the water to boil, Skylar arrived in a wheelchair. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Coralie heard the sound of the wheelchair and knew that it was Skylar. She didn't say anything until the
water was ready. She poured two cups of hot water and turned to Skylar, holding a cup for herself.
"Are you really treating me like a disabled person?"
"No." Coralie shook her head and continued, "To be honest, you helped me in the past. You helped me
with everything. I don't have the ability to help you with anything. The only thing I can do now is to
serve tea and make meals for you. That's all."
Coralie knew the difference between her and Skylar. There was nothing she could do to help with
Skylar's matters.
If there was anything she could do, it might be something like making meals for him.
"You don't have to do these things. If I need to, I can hire servants to do it." Skylar paused for a
moment before continuing, "I didn't let the servants come now because I thought we could use some
privacy."
Skylar's villa had a special built-in maids' room, which was directly connected to the back door.
"Well, now it's just the two of us, just give me the courtesy of doing it for you. I'm happy to do it."
Then, Coralie drank the water and smiled.
She and Skylar were probably in the situation right now.
"Alright."
Skylar nodded.
After drinking the water, Coralie pushed Skylar back to his room, poured him another glass of water,
and put it on the nightstand before she went to sleep.
......
The next morning, Skylar woke up at 4 o'clock.
He used to spend his day on the scheduled programmes in the rehabilitation centre, so he had always
worked in his room in the early morning.
After he woke up, he got out of bed and went to work on the dining table, bringing his laptop.
Coralie woke up at six o'clock. When she woke up, she saw that she was alone in the bed. Then, she
touched the bed and found that it was cold...
"Skylar! Skylar!"
Coralie was frantic. She didn’t even wear her slippers before she ran out of the bedroom.
When she saw Skylar working on his computer at the dining table after she went out of the room, her
tears flowed down her cheeks uncontrollably.
"What's wrong?"
Skylar stopped working when he heard Coralie shouting. When he turned his head, he saw Coralie
rushing out of the bedroom with her bare feet, looking as if she had lost her soul.
"Skylar," Coralie called as she walked step by step to Skylar's side and hugged him from behind. She
muttered, "I thought you left. I thought you didn't want me anymore..."
Only she knew how terrified she was when she saw the cold and empty bed.
"No, I won't..." Skylar comforted her.
"I thought I had to go back to the past again, back to the days without you, back to the days when I
couldn't find you anywhere..."
Coralie held Skylar from the back, tears flowing down her cheeks and dripping onto his neck.
For the first time, she realized that she had become so insecure about anything related to Skylar.
"Alright now." Skylar turned around and pulled Coralie to sit on his lap. He caressed her hair and said,
"No, you won't live like that anymore in the future."
"I know. Are you going back today?" She asked.
"No, I'll stay in the city for the next two days. I won't go back until Sunday." Skylar explained, "I have to
handle some important projects. Although I can't show up at the scene, I have to participate in the
video conference and sign it."
"Great, I'll come here directly after work."
Coralie wanted to accompany Skylar.
"I'll pick you up for dinner after work. Oh yeah, you should also call Wayne."
Skylar said.
