Margaux POV

I never thought that the day would come when me and Jewel would meet again, I never thought she would go wherever I was. I have been living in Granny for a long time, when I thought I was going to die I was lucky to survive before the car exploded. I lost consciousness so I did not know what happened and when I woke up I was in the hospital and there I met Tatang who saved me, he was Granny’s husband.

They were there when I was still recovering and they took me in but Tatang died due to an accident and Granny and I were left alone. I am very grateful to them, if it wasn’t for them I might have died forever .

I just listened to Ate Jewel’s story and I could feel the pain she was feeling, I knew I was one of the ones who tortured her before and I can say that she didn’t deserve to be hurt like this because she was a kind person. When she finished telling the story, I hugged her tightly because she was already crying. I also found out that she was pregnant now.

“Stop crying big sister, it’s not healthy for the baby. You have to be strong because there is still a family waiting for you.” I said while stroking her back.

I just let her cry first so that she could somehow release her resentment, after a few minutes she stopped and I could only hear sobs from her.

“But sister, won’t you talk to older Kuya Thunder first? Maybe he can explain that or maybe he has a reason why he didn’t tell you.” I said..

“I don’t know if I can face him right now, I can’tI think properly now Marga, is it still fresh in my mind what I know and not easy to accept it.”

FASTFORWARD

A week has passed since I met Ate Jewel and we stay in the same house. I have witnessed how she is having a hard time because she cries almost every night and I can see that she misses her husband and child.

I had just finished bathing and getting dressed because I was going to go with her for a check up. When I got out of the room I caught up with Granny and they were talking happily.

“Oh there you are daughter, come and eat so that Jewel and you can leave so you can go back early.” Granny’s promise.

I immediately sat down next to Ate Jewel and started eating, it didn’t take long for us to finish together so we left so it wouldn’t be too hot outside.

The OB clinic is close to us so we will only do one ride, we just need to be early because there might be a lot of people.

When we got there we were lucky because we were the first so we were able to check up quickly. We just talked to Ate Jewel and gave her medicine prescriptions and a list of foods she needed to eat again.

Then we bought the medicines there because they had a store instead of going to the pharmacy. I thought we were going home but my sister invited me to go through the mall first to go around and then we would just buy our food there so that Nanang wouldn’t have to cook anymore.

We are here now in a restaurant because Ate wants to eat here, maybe her stomach is looking for the food that is here. I just stared at her while eating, the swelling of her eyes obvious.

“In a few months, your stomach will be visible.” I said.

“Yeah, it looks like my child is greedy because I eat too much food. It’s embarrassing for Granny.” She replied.

“Don’t be shy. Granny is happy with what she’s doing and she wants to take care of you too.” I insist.

“How about you? What’s your plan?”

I stopped eating because of her question. “If you and your husband will be okay I’ll face my parents.”

She smiled at me. “It’s good that you’re able to think, they’ll be happy when they find out that you’re alive and you can also bring Granny.”

“That’s also my plan big sister, when I go back to our house I’ll take Nanang with me because I don’t want to leave her alone here especially since she has no partner in life.” I said.

We just continued eating and when we finished we just went around and went home.
