Shannon wore a beautiful dress, and she looked younger than usual. When she saw Noah after entering the ward, she immediately thought about Xavier when he was younger. "It's me, Noah, your grandma."

She bent down and wanted to hug Noah. However, he avoided her. "You've made a mistake, old lady. I'm not your grandson."

Shannon was stunned. It was her first time being a grandmother, and she didn't know what to do at all.

When Noah saw the gifts, he noticed they were all the latest toys and games. There were even luxurious action figures, and he could tell the gifts weren't cheap at all.

He figured Shannon was quite generous and wealthy. At the very least, she was being more generous than Yara. Not only that, but she was better at pretending to be a kind person.

"I'm sorry, old lady. My mom taught me not to take anything from strangers."

Shannon felt hurt when she heard him calling her a stranger. "Noah, I'm not a stranger. You'll understand in the future. You can take these. It'll be fine."

If it were any other kid, she would've been infuriated after being called an old lady. However, she was too happy to talk to her own grandson.

Noah yawned and said, "No, thanks. I don't know you at all, and you must've gotten the wrong person. I'm going to rest now, so goodbye."

Shannon was stunned again. She wondered why he wasn't excited about the gifts at all. After all, from what she understood, all kids liked gifts like these. She didn't know what else she could do to coax him. Noah was exactly like Xavier when he was young.

"What can I do to make you believe I'm your grandma?" she gently asked.

Noah said seriously, "I'll never believe it, old lady. That's because I already have a grandma."

Shannon was confused, and she wondered who would dare to pretend to be Xavier's mother. She thought about it and figured he might be talking about Yara. With that thought in mind, she felt better. "Noah, I'm your paternal grandmother, and your mom is my daughter-in-law." She didn't know if he understood any of those words.

Noah looked at her in confusion and asked, "Really?"

"That's right!"

"But if you're my grandma, then why haven't I seen you before?"

Shannon's heart skipped a beat. She loved Noah a lot. "That was because I never knew you existed before."

Noah thought about it and lied, "When Mom went to work, I would stay at Grandma's house."
