The Fated Match

I rubbed my tired eyes as I walked down the steps from the coach. It took upto an hour to get to Heathrow airport, but our flight was early. It was currently 5 in the morning and I spent the whole ride here leaning on Theo’s strong shoulder.

Today we were flying to America and everyone was excited, I’ll admit they were tired, but I knew as soon as we landed, they would be very excited.

Billy had told our old coach I was coming and apparently, we now have a very nice holiday home that we will be staying in that has 6 rooms, 3 bathrooms, a gym and thankfully a swimming pool.

I would personally thank him.

Theo helped the girls get their bags from under the bus and got them onto a trolley. He knew that he was part of the help along with me and Tina. I was relieved to have Theo accompany is on this trip due to his past experience of being in the states as well as myself.

I led the way into the airport heading straight for us all to check in.

As they all passed me, I handed them their tickets and let them go ahead. Bryony had done a fair share of travelling with her family, so I let her have somewhat control over keeping everyone well informed and how it works in terms of going through security.

Bryony has grown on me ever since the beginning, she respects me, and I respect her which is enough for me.

After we all checked in, we headed further into the airport going for all the security checks.

“I told you, Mel, dress casually otherwise you’ll be stripping for all these people,” Bryony said as we waited in line. I smiled, she wasn’t too overdressed, but she had jewellery on a belt and boots. It’s fine but it’s a pain when going through security.

I opted for sweats, just a jumper and fitness leggings with trainers. Theo and Tina wore very similar clothing.

“its fine Melissa, just remove your belt before you go through,” I saidUpstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Melissa visibly relaxed clearly; she was a little bit stressed.

The U. K is not super strict compared to other countries, but they do ensure that there is nothing dangerous going through or coming in.

I went to Australia one time and hated every second of it.

Once we were finished with all the security checks, we made it through too duty-free. I let them go around a little bit before meeting us at our gate.

Tina and Theo went to grab some snacks before our flight whilst I used the bathroom.

When I finished up, I met everyone, and we walked to our gate to get in the line. It didn’t take for us to get through as it wasn’t such a busy day and wasn’t a prime holiday period. I decided on going just before the Easter break to avoid any busy periods where everyone likes to get away for two weeks.

I stood behind Theo as the woman checking our passports shamelessly flirted with Theo, asking about to Japan since it obviously showed he had been there from his passport.

Theo kindly ended the conversation and let me go next.

“you have a very handsome teacher,” the lady said leaning forward to whisper. Is she serious right now?

I heard the others scoff behind me.

“what’s the holdup coach,” Scott said looking over my shoulder. I smiled already knowing that he was trying to prove a point.

She quickly checked my passport and stamped it clearly, she was embarrassed for assuming.

Theo shook his head, amused as he walked up front with the twins.

When I joined up with Theo, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “you okay?” he asked me. I sighed nodding my head.

We all found our seats on the plane. Theo was behind a few rows with the guys and I stayed next to Melissa and Jenny. Melissa, bless her heart she hadn’t really been on a plane for longer than 1 hour, so she was really nervous.

“Here let me,” a young man said taking the bag from Bryony. We all watched as the muscular man lifted her heavy suitcase and put it up top.

Bryony for once looked rather shy as she thanked him.

I smirked over at her when I realised, she was sitting next to him for the next few hours. Flights are always good times to meet new people.

After a few minutes of holding Melissa’s hand as we lifted off, I was finally able to relax. Taking off is never a worry of mine but landing is, that’s for sure.

I soon found myself drifting off from being so stressed about this trip I barely got any sleep yesterday, so this is pure bliss right now.

The slight bit of turbulence and I was waking up. When I looked out the window, I could see that we were much closer to the landing. Melissa was holding hands with jenny whilst closing her eyes.

“you okay Mel,” I said grabbing her other hand. Without opening her eyes, she nodded her head. Bless her heart.

The flight attendants ensured us that this was normal before starting to do their normal routine when landing.

I laid my head back waiting for us to land. By every second I grew more excited with seeing some old friends.

We finally landed and were able to start exiting the plane and head into the airport. I was waiting for the others to finish getting through security when Tina walked up to me.

“Go ahead,” Tina said watching me become somewhat giddy. I smiled at her before walking faster through the airport. When I reached the main part of the airport, I saw a sign with my name on it.

I think I screamed as I ran over to billy. I jumped on him wrapping my arms around him and hugging him tightly. “Hey loser,” he said hugging me back.

“wow you look different,” I said scanning billy from head to toe. He had gone back to his natural hair, a rich red head which was what he is. Glasses covering his eyes and a casual hoodie and shorts combo.

“still got your abs I see, thought you’d be fat by now,” he says having a look at me. I roughly hit him on the shoulder for being so rude.

Just when I was leaving to become a coach billy was positive that I would stop swimming and start enjoying Netflix and fast-food.

Billy looked behind me. “is that your footballer” billy whispers as we turn to face everyone coming through. I saw that he was staring at Theo

I nudge him to shut up. Theo doesn’t need to know that I talk to billy about him. Billy and I were never more than friends. He liked his girls quiet, simple and the total opposite of me. my strong personality was somewhat unattractive to him.

“Hey, guys” I had to quickly check if everyone was here, with Scott running up behind I was satisfied that everyone was here.

“I want you to meet William, we used to swim together, and he will be taking us around,” I said pointing over at Billy.

Billy hated his name William, he thought it was an old-fashioned name so we all called him bill, billy or whatever anyone could think of.

He stepped forward. “Hey guys, please just call me Billy. Now that you’re in a professionals hands lets go “he said wrapping his arms around Scott and Jenny before walking us out to the exit.

I rolled my eyes.

I waited for everyone to follow before sneaking next to Theo. I slipped my hand into Theo’s. he gripped my fingers tightly walking with me. I felt like I haven’t really spent time with him on our trip here, but I planned to make sure I find the time.

I’m sure Billy can stay with the group and me and Theo could sneak off maybe do something fun just the two of us.

“I don’t have to worry about billy, right?” he asks. I smiled, is he jealous?

I kind of liked the idea of him being jealous because it means he truly likes me and that’s more than I could’ve asked for.

“No, he’s about as interested in me as you are to Michelle” that comment had him smiling.

Me and Theo joined the group finally. Billy stood next to two jeeps waiting for us. He moved his head, motioning to the other car and I smiled wide.

The stunner that she was jumped out from the jeep. Her long blonde wavy hair falling around her waist.

“took your time, Elle,” she said walking over to me and Theo I knew she was looking at Theo too, but I was glad she put her flirtatious ways behind her for our little reunion.

“come here,” I said laughing as I pulled her in for a hug. Her usual beachy scent hit me hard and I was instantly hit with memories.

Abi was one of the best swimmers I’ve ever know. Her speed is truly astounding.

“pinch me now if that’s your man,” she said quietly into my ear. I laughed, of course, she was interested in Theo Who wouldn’t be.

I gave her a light pinch.

“fuck sake,” she said pulling apart. She turned to Theo bringing out her hand.

“Hey, I’m Abi, nice to meet you” Theo stepped forward shaking her hand. “Theo,” he said simply before standing close to me.

If I’m not careful here this could be a slight situation.

I shook my head; I wasn’t here to have reunions and worry about that I was here to give my team some experience with professionals.

“alright, “I clapped my hands together. Billy had tossed me keys.” Get in everyone let’s get you settled in” everyone got in one of the jeeps allowing us all to head to the place where we’d be staying.

Spaces were limited so I ended up practically sitting on Theo, not that I minded though.

Abi could only smirk “you don’t look like a swimmer,” she said after staring at Theo for a good 10 minutes.

“I’m more of a footballer, swimming was never my strong sport” he replied. I didn’t miss the feeling of Theo’s fingers tracing my thigh.

It relaxed me.

“we can see that” billy mutters from in front.

It is clear that Theo had a different body compared to billy. His legs were stronger whereas billy had bigger arms.

It wasn’t long before we were finally pulling up to the house. I looked out at it in awe. This was amazing, we really were being spoiled.

Me and Theo were pulling our bags into the house when we heard the two shout “no funny business, there’s kids in there” I wanted to punch them so fucking hard right now.

Don’t blame me if I find myself in Theo’s bed instead of mine.
