Chapter 86 Reject
After hanging up the phone, Kristen received the location from Heloise. She was about to go out, but before she could reach the door, she was stopped by the servants.
“Miss Healey, Mr. Wharton has instructed you not to go out.”
Kristen explained, “I have a friend here. I’m going out for a while. I’ll be back soon.” The maid still looked troubled.
Kristen had no choice but to call Ethan.
Ethan was hesitating to go in before Xenos sent him the address. Knowing that Kristen was going out for a walk, he agreed without much thought.
Hanging up the phone, he got out of the car. He walked to the gate and pressed the doorbell.
A short while later, a servant came to open the door. She looked at him warily and asked, “Sir, who are you looking for?”
Ethan said, “Does Doctor M live here? I’m here to visit her.”NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
The maid asked, “Do you have an appointment?”
Ethan answered, “No.”
The maid directly closed the door. “Those people without an appointment are not allowed to enter. This is the rule of Doctor M.”
It was the first time in his life that Ethan had been stopped outside the door, but he didn’t get angry at all. He quickly asked, “May I ask how I can make an appointment?”
The maid said, “You have to contact Doctor M’s assistant.”
After that, the maid turned around and left, leaving Ethan with a puzzled look on his face. Ethan did not see Doctor M and could only call Xenos. “Can you find the phone number of Doctor M’s assistant?”
Xenos hurried to say, “Wait a minute, I’ll check it out.”
However, at this moment, the door in front of him opened, and a Maserati drove out and then left. Ethan looked at the disappearing car as if he was thinking about something.
Heloise drove to the intersection to pick up Kristen. When Kristen saw Heloise’s car, she quickly waved at Heloise. Then, the Maserati stopped in front of her.
“Auntie!”
Heloise took off her sunglasses. “Long time no see. I almost didn’t recognize you. Hurry up and get in the car.”
Kristen opened the door and got into the car. Heloise drove her home. When they passed the gate, Kristen saw Ethan.
She was stunned.
Why is he here?
Kristen was very nervous and quickly turned away from Ethan to prevent him from noticing her. Fortunately, Maserati’s privacy was extremely strong, so he didn’t notice her.
“Agnes.” Kristen greeted the woman in the professional suit. She was Heloise’s assistant.
When Agnes saw her, she said warmly, “Kristen, why are you here?”
Kristen said, “Don’t you welcome me?”
“How could that be? Doctor Oliver often thinks about you.”
Kristen smiled mischievously, “Of course. My aunt loves me the most.”
Having said that, she held Heloise’s arm as if they were mother and daughter. Heloise doted on her since she was the only girl in this generation.
“Well, Kristen. You’re an adult now. How can you still act like a spoiled child? What do you want to eat for lunch? I’ll get the servants to prepare it.”
Kristen rolled her eyes and said, “I want to eat the food cooked by Agnes.”
Hearing this, Agnes didn’t forget to complain, “You are enslaving me.”
Kristen immediately said, “It’s all because Agnes is good at cooking!”
Agnes liked to hear these words.
“Okay, I’ll go and prepare.”
After Agnes left, Heloise held Kristen’s hand and chatted about something normal. After a while, Agnes came back.
“Doctor Oliver, a man surnamed Wharton wants to make an appointment with you.”
Hearing her words, Kristen couldn’t help slowing down her movements. She thought of Ethan she saw when she came in. Was he looking for her aunt?
Heloise refused without hesitation. “I am on holiday. I don’t accept an appointment for the time being. Let’s talk about it in a few days.”
Agnes said, “Okay. I will refuse him for you.”
Kristen said, “Wait a minute.”
Heloise looked at her. “What’s wrong, Kristen?”
Kristen asked Agnes, “Is he Ethan Wharton?”
Agnes said, “Yes, that’s what he said just now.”
Heloise asked in surprise, “What? Do you know him?”
Kristen pursed her lips, looked at Heloise, and said, “Auntie, he’s my friend. He must have something important to discuss with you. Why don’t you find some time to meet him?”
Heloise had always agreed to Kristen’s request. It could be said that the members of the Oliver family had never refused Kristen. So Heloise said directly, “Since he is a friend of Kristen, why don’t we let him come over now?”
Agnes understood and said, “Okay, I’ll call him back now.”
Kristen quickly said, “No, Auntie. It’s not convenient for me.”
Heloise looked at her suspiciously, feeling that Kristen was hiding something from her.
“Tell me the truth. What is Ethan Wharton’s relationship with you?”
Kristen explained, “Auntie, we don’t have any relationship. We just know each other. If you want to see him now, I can only go upstairs.”
When Heloise heard this, she couldn’t help but lightly laugh. It seemed this girl had grown up and began to have worries weighing down on her mind.
Kristen didn’t want to tell her, so she didn’t ask.
“All right, you go upstairs and have a rest. You can come down later.”
Kristen let out a breath of relief and went upstairs. Agnes called Ethan after she left. Ethan appeared in front of Heloise in under fifteen minutes.
Heloise sized up the noble-looking man in front of her, and her eyes were full of praise. “Are you Mr. Wharton?”
Ethan said sincerely, “Nice to meet you, Doctor M.”
Kristen, who was upstairs, didn’t know what they were talking about. About an hour later, Agnes came up and said to her, “Kristen, he’s gone.”
Kristen asked curiously, “Why is he looking for Auntie?”
Agnes said, “The people looking for Doctor Oliver are all here to see a doctor. What else could it be?”
Kristen frowned when she heard that. See a doctor? Is Ethan feeling unwell?
She went downstairs and saw Heloise leisurely drinking tea. Hurriedly, she asked, “Auntie, what’s wrong with him?”
Heloise slowly put down the teacup in her hand and said with a faint smile, “Kristen, you seem to care about him a lot.”
Kristen couldn’t care less at the moment. She just wanted to know the answer.
“A simple cardiac surgery. I’ve already rejected him,” Heloise said.
