Chapter 2233
Chapter 2233
Justin was gone for a whole month. He was the president of Salvador Corporation, a man of great power and influence, and his disappearance left only lan to manage urgent matters at the company. However, there were still countless documents that required his personal approval.
The office was in complete disarray, and the president's desk was piled high with memos.
Eventually, the situation could not be hidden any longer. Nigel and Gregory were alerted.
Justin had narrowly escaped death in Sentania and had been gravely injured, remaining in a coma for an entire week. It was not until now that his grandfather and father were finally informed of the news.
The shock and anger of being kept in the dark was overwhelming for these two former titans of the business world, almost more than they could bear.
After receiving the news, Nigel was rushed to the hospital that very night.
On the other hand, Gregory immediately flew to Sentania to forcefully bring his comatose son back to Savrow on a private jet, under the care of the best medical team available in Savrow.
It was said that a major fight broke out between Gregory and the Thompson family in the hospital, plunging the situation into chaos.
The relationship between the two families hit rock bottom, almost beyond repair.
Fortunately, Asher had enough of a commanding presence and leadership. He had a private conversation with Gregory in a room for half an hour, breaking up the fight.
Otherwise, it was hard to imagine what extreme measures Gregory might have taken. Though he had once been quite critical of his younger son, and their relationship had been strained, Justin was still his son, his flesh and blood.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Although he had reluctantly accepted Justin's relationship with Bella, he could not handle the fact that his son had risked his life time and again for this woman, ending up severely injured each time.
His eldest son, whom he had painstakingly groomed, was already half-crippled.
Justin was his last hope. He had long come to terms with the fact that he would grow old and that the Salvador Corporation would eventually be passed down to Justin.
The Thompson family did not care for his son, allowing him to be hurt and putting Justin in danger repeatedly. How could Gregory tolerate it? There had to be limits to cruelty and mistreatment!
However, Bella was unaware of all this, and the Thompson family had kept her in the dark. When Gregory rushed to the hospital in Sentania, she was already on a flight back home.
The private plane landed in Savrow in the afternoon.
Bella had briefly freshened up on the plane, changing into a sleek black business suit. She used light makeup to cover her exhausted appearance, restoring some of her usual radiant elegance.
However, her pale lips and bloodshot eyes betrayed her fragile state and deep sorrow. But she had to force herself to stay strong.
Ryan was right. If she collapsed, all of Justin's efforts would be in vain.
It was another cold winter day.
"Ms. Bella." Steven stood at the bottom of the stairs, bracing himself against the biting wind. He watched Bella as she walked down step by step, her slender figure appearing lonely. Immediately, he was overcome with the urge to cry.
"Steven, you've worked hard to take care of the house." Bella smiled at him faintly, one that barely formed.
"Please don't say that." Steven hurriedly draped a coat over her shoulders. He wanted to add, "As long as you're safe, nothing else matters."
In the end, he could not bring himself to say it.
After all, the person Bella loved the most was still unconscious, and everything was unknown. He could not add to her pain.
"Do you want to go home and rest for a bit first?"
"No need."
Bella took a deep breath of the cold, sharp air, clearing her head. "I returned urgently because I must visit Christopher in prison. There's something I need to ask him."
In Savrow's prison, tall, thick walls loomed overhead, wrapped in barbed wire and electric fences.
The sun was shining brightly, but inside, the air was suffocating, as though a permanent haze hung over the place, making it impossible to breathe.
"From now on, this is the only view Christopher will ever see." Steven gritted his teeth, following closely behind Bella.
"I imagine he won't be seeing it for long." Bella's voice was devoid of warmth or emotion as she continued walking forward.
In the visitation room, she sat expressionless behind the glass window, while Steven stood in a corner, keeping a close eye on her.
Soon, the iron door creaked open.
The moment Christopher appeared in her sight, Bella's eyes widened slightly.
For a second, she could hardly recognize the man before her as the man she had known since childhood, entangled with, competed against, and rivaled for half a lifetime.
