Since Bella woke up, she ignored her own condition and stayed by Justin's side without resting.

Three more days passed, but to her, it felt like three months, three years, or even thirty years...

The sun rose and set, exchanging shifts with the moon, tormenting her.

This was not the first time Justin had been injured because of her. She had experienced panic and fear when his life hung by a thread and he fell into a deep coma. However, for some reason, she could no longer maintain even the slightest bit of rationality and calmness this time.

Bella clung tightly to Justin's hand, their fingers intertwined. The fear inside her surged like an unstoppable flood, threatening to swallow her whole.

She experienced an unprecedented fear.

The overwhelming sense of helplessness tormented her spirit.

In just a week, the once proud and beautiful young lady had withered like a dying white rose-pale, broken, and fragile.

Her frail frame seemed like it could slip out of her oversized hospital gown at any moment.

Every day, from morning until night, Bella would recount their past to Justin, telling him stories from when she was eleven years old to eighteen, to their marriage, divorce, and how they found their way back to each other. She recalled every breathtaking moment vividly, joy and sorrow.

What she once thought was an unbearable past now seemed trivial and fleeting upon reflection.

As long as those memories involved him, everything was good.

Now she had no right to be picky anymore.

"Justin... Arnold said there's something wrong with your brain. I'm so scared. I'm afraid you'll forget me when you wake up."

Bella held the man's rough hand, interlocking their fingers as tears streamed down her face. She kissed his fingertips, the back of his hand, and his palm.

Whenever they were intimate, Justin would say she was like a delicious and soft bun, juicy with every bite, making him want to devour her completely.

So, each time, he would kiss every inch of her delicate skin until she trembled. She felt as if she were floating in the clouds. Only then would he stop before bringing her to the peak of ecstasy in an even deeper

way.

Of course, they wouldn't share such intimate affection in public, so Justin would always kiss her lips or, like now, her fingertips and palms.

He loved her so much that these uncontrollable kisses were just his way of expressing the affection he did not know how else to show.

His heart was in turmoil, just as his body was.

Now, it was her turn to be the humble one, to experience the pain of loss and heart-wrenching agony.

Sure enough, fate was fair. Those who failed to cherish happiness would be punished.

"It's okay... Even if you forget me, it's okay."

Tears streamed down Bella's face, soaking his palm. "If the price of you surviving this ordeal is forgetting me... I'm willing to disappear from your memory without regret or complaint. As long as I can watch over you for the rest of my life, I'll be content..."

Justin had said these very words countless times.

Now, it was Bella's turn to speak to them. Each word was like a sharp, tiny stone grinding painfully across her heart.

Could she truly be content?

Was this not just empty self-consolation, the kind that came after exhausting every effort with no other options left?

"Don't forget me... I beg you... Don't forget me..."

Bella could no longer lie to herself. She collapsed onto his chest, her thin shoulders trembling uncontrollably as she sobbed.

"Bella, don't cry."
