The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2059

Thalassa toyed with the idea of calling Lysander to tell him the news but then thought better of it. She didn't want to interrupt his day with something that could easily wait until he got home. After all, the marriage license wasn't going anywhere as long as she kept it safe.

Instead of bothering Lysander, she dialed Hertha's number.

The phone was picked up almost immediately, but Hertha's voice was thick with sleep, unmistakably groggy.

Thalassa couldn't help but chuckle, "Had a wild night with your hubby, huh? Sleeping in till the sun's high in the sky?"

Hertha shot up in bed, surprised, and asked, "How did you know?"

Then, realizing her mistake, her face flushed with embarrassment, she accused, "Thalassa, you're terrible! What are you thinking about?" "It's not like she's wrong," mumbled Alaric from beside her, stretching his long legs over hers, still half-asleep as he joined in their conversation. Hearing their banter, Thalassa burst into laughter.

Embarrassed yet amused, Hertha tried to push Alaric away, saying, "Shoo, stop making a fuss!"

"Thalassa, listen, it's not what you think," Hertha hurriedly tried to explain while pushing Alaric to the side.

Before marriage, Hertha could take any joke thrown her way without batting an eye. But now, she found herself blushing over the smallest things. "Alright, alright, I'll stop teasing," Thalassa said, trying to contain her laughter to spare Hertha further embarrassment.

"I've got something to tell you," Thalassa finally got to the point.

"Don't scare me with bad news first thing in the morning," Hertha said, her nerves on edge, hoping for something positive during this happy phase of her life.

Unable to hold back, Thalassa blurted out, "Lysander and I got our marriage license."

Knowing Hertha was her closest confidant, Thalassa always shared her news with her first.

"Really?!" Hertha exclaimed, shocked.

"Yes, really," confirmed Thalassa.

After a moment of stunned silence, Hertha let out a shriek so loud it could've pierced eardrums, hergoy and Surprise vibrating through the phone line. Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

Thalassa could feel Hertha's genuine happiness for her.

"Finally, you and Lysander made it official! So, when's the celebration dinner?" Hertha asked, buzzing with excitement.

"A celebration dinner?" Thalassa repeated.

"Of course! You can't just get married and not celebrate. A big feast is in order," Hertha insisted, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

At that moment, Alaric, too, perked up, having caught on to the news. He was thrilled for Lysander, his buddy finally settling down.

Alaric, unable to contain his

excitement, snatched the phone

from Hertha, "Let Lysander treat us to dinner. He's got deets; a fancy meal is nothing to him.'"

His words echoed through the speakerphone.

"Shouldn't you guys be treating us, being the first ones married and all? Don't be so tight-fisted, Alaric," Thalassa teased.

"Look at you, already saving for Lysander Playing the role of the devoted wife perfectly, huh?" Hertha chimed in, laughter spilling from her lips, ribbing Thalassa for hero comment.
