TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Axion can be seen in his office at home, going through a file when out of a sudden…

” Axion!! ” He heard Phoenix scream his name making him jerk.

” Phoenix? ” He mumbled, getting up and dashing out of the office to his room. He was more than shocked when he didn’t see Phoenix in bed. Her voice came up again in his head and his body hair stood in alarm as a bad feeling consumed him.

It was a feeling his Phoenix was in danger. Almost immediately, a vision appeared to him. In the vision he could see Phoenix lying helplessly on the floor, covered in blood and calling out for him, in a weak state.

His eyes poked out in great horror.

” Phoenix! ” He exclaimed and disappeared instantly. He reappeared in the room Phoenix was in. Seeing her in great pain, he too felt a sharp pain pierce his heart. He instantly hurried to her.

” Phoenix ” He called softly, squatting before her and placing her head on his lap. Seeing him,

” Axion ” Phoenix smiled faintly.

” Sush ” Axion hushed her immediately, caressing her cheek.

” Let me get you out of here. You’d be fine, I promise ” He carried her in his arms and vanished.

” What?! ” Glinda exclaimed, shock running down her. Phoenix who was fine now and her injury treated already told her everything about her encounter with Medusa.

” No, no, Phoenix, it’s not feasible. The Kelsey I know can never be a Dark Genie. She loves Axiom with her life, why will she want to kill him? ” She shook her head in incredulity.

How can Kelsey be a Dark Genie? How can she be Medusa?

” I was also shocked when I saw her, aunt. But you know I wouldn’t lie to you about this. She told me everything herself ” Phoenix tried convincing her.

Glinda went stiff instantly and her head began spinning in confusion, rage, and shock.

” How dare she lie to me? How dare she use me? Why didn’t I notice anything odd with her? She made me think my brother was awful and greedy whereas she was the real devil herself right under our noses?! ” She seethed, her fist clenched.

” Aunt, she wants to kill Axion. I have to stop her but I’m in no way compared to her. She is 10 times more powerful than I am. How am I going to battle her when I’m only just a wussy Phoenix? ” Phoenix muttered sadly, her head bowed in shame.

Glinda walked up to her and held her hand making her gaze up.

” You aren’t weak Phoenix. You’re just not cruel and atrocious like her. You have a soft heart but that doesn’t mean you can’t fight her. I know when it comes to safeguarding your Axion… you’d go the extra mile…

” Plus… you aren’t alone in this. I am with you, Phoenix and we’d fight this battle together ” Glinda assured and a proud smile crept up Phoenix’s lips.

” Thank you so much, aunt. You’ve never for once failed me. You’ve become a mother to me and I swear, I don’t even know how to repay you for always standing by me ” She expressed wholeheartedly.

” You don’t have to thank me, my dear. I should be the one doing that. Ever since you came into Axion’s life, you’ve protected him with your all. If not for you… then I don’t know what would have happened to him by now ”

Glinda pulled Phoenix into a hug, placing a kiss on her hair.

” Bless you, my dear ” Phoenix’s smile died down when something hit her and she pulled out.

” But aunt, what about Axion? Should I tell him? ” She couldn’t help but ask.

The door of the room flung open and Glinda stepped out only to see Axion standing by the door.

” How is she, aunt? ” Axion queried the instant he saw her.

” She’s fine. You can go see her ” Glinda answered. He didn’t let her say anything further as he dashed into the room.

Glinda let out a sad sigh, looking down in guilt.

” I don’t know how you’re gonna react if you find out the truth, Axion ”

Axion was more than happy to see that Phoenix was ok. When he saw her bleeding earlier, he was frightened to the bone. The thought of losing her alone terrified him.

” Axion ” Phoenix smiled at him as he walked up to the bed.

” How are feeling? ” He inquired, sitting beside her. Reaching out to Phoenix’s stomach, he tenderly touched the wound making her wince a speck.

” Does it still hurt? ” He mumbled, cupping her face and one could see the sincere discomfort and concern in his eyes. Phoenix nodded slightly, pouting.

” What happened? Who did this to you? Was it Gianna? ” Phoenix’s heart skipped in fear at his question.

How is she going to tell him that his mother did it? How is he going to deal with the pain and betrayal?

” No Phoenix. You can’t tell him, at least not now ”

” Yes, Gianna did ” She lied and Axion’s eyes grew dark in rage instantly.

” How dare that dingbat try hurting you? I’m going to teach her a lesson! ” He snarled and sprang up about to dash out when Phoenix held his hand, pulling him back on the bed.

” No, Axion, there’s no need. I’m fine now, so don’t worry ”

” But…” Phoenix held his face, flashing him an assuring smile while fondling it.

” I’m ok now, Axion. It’s nothing ” She pulled him to hug and Axion wrapped his hands around her.

” Just stay here with me, please ” She mumbled, tightening the hug. She was feeling guilty for hiding Kelsey’s real identity from him. He deserves to know but maybe not now.

A faint smile can be seen on Axion’s lips as he placed a tender kiss on her neck. His anger has subsided and all he wanted to do now was hold Phoenix like he is doing.

” I won’t leave, I promise ”

After making sure Phoenix was fast asleep and after covering her up, Axion left the room and was surprised to see Glinda downstairs, seated on the couch.

” Aunt, you’re still here? ” He strode up to her.

” Is she asleep? ” Glinda asked and he nodded.

” That’s good. She needs enough rest to heal faster ” Axion sat down beside her.

” You know… sometimes I’m still surprised as to how she is ever ready to protect you despite being in pain ” Glinda spoke up prompting Axion to glance at her.

” I also don’t why ” He mumbled.
