TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Axion laid Phoenix gently on the bed and just then she snapped her eyes open.

” Axion ” She jerked up and hugged him tightly, her body trembling in fear.

” She’s going to hurt me again, please don’t leave. ” Her lips trembled and her tears rolled down. Axion could feel she was really scared and traumatized.

” Sush. She’s not going hurt you, I won’t let her do that ” He assured her for the first time since he met her, stroking her back gently. Phoenix tightened the hug, nodding negatively, still crying.

” I’m scared, Axion ” She mumbled.

” Do you trust me? ” Axion asked and she nodded slowly.

” I won’t let her touch you again, I promise ” He reassured. Phoenix’s body slowly started losing up and she fell back asleep. Axion laid her back gently, making sure not to wake her up.

He took his phone and dialed a number.

” Aunt Glinda, can you come over now? ” He asked.

” Ok,” He added and ended the call.

A few minutes later, the door opened, revealing Glinda.

” What happened? ” She asked Axion, who was still sitting on the bed, besides Phoenix. Her eyes widened a bit on seeing Phoenix.

” What happened to her? ” She demanded, sitting beside her too and taking her hand in.

” She was attacked ” Axion sighed.

” What? Who attacked her? ”

” The princess of terror ” Axion replied. Glinda eyed him in confusion.

” She bit her and I think she poisoned her with fear ” Axion explained.

” That’s impossible. The princess of terror can’t stand the Red Phoenix. Even if she poisoned her, it won’t have any effect on her” Glinda objected.

” But I think it did. She was extremely scared when she woke up. ”

” But how is that possible? ” Glinda asked herself. Her eyes went over to Phoenix’s neck. She frowned her brows deeply.

” Where is the necklace on her neck? ” She asked.

” Does she have a necklace on her neck? ” Axion asked back.

” Yes. Her mother gave it to her. It was meant to protect her ” What Glinda said ended up confusing Axion.

” Wait, hold on… are you talking about Lilly? ” He inquired.

” No, her real mother ” Axion’s eyes widened.

” Lilly isn’t her real mother? ” He almost yelled.

” How come I never knew about that? ”

” Because you never asked, neither were you interested ” Glinda hissed at him.

” If the necklace isn’t on her neck, that means she took it off. That explains why the princess of terror was able to poison her with fear ” Glinda pointed out.

” Damn it! She shouldn’t have taken it off. That necklace was meant to protect her from danger until she had mastered her powers. ” She cussed.

” Why will the princess of terror attack her all of a sudden? ” Axion couldn’t help but ask.

” Because of you ” Glinda snapped at him.

” Huh? ”

” She doesn’t want you to find or be with your Phoenix, but since you did, she attacked her. Her purpose is to terrify Phoenix so she would reject you. But what she doesn’t know is that Phoenix has already accepted you ” Axion’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets and he sprang up.

” She accepted me?! ” He half yelled.

” Of course. How ignorant are you, Axion? Didn’t you even notice the change in her hair color? ” Glinda scoffed in disbelief and Axion looked at Phoenix’s hair.

” How come I never noticed? ” He mumbled. Glinda rolled her eyes.

” Learn to look after her Axion. She’s also your responsibility ” She said and for the first time, Axion felt guilty. He let out a sigh and sat down on the bed.

” Aunt, don’t you have any medicine that can heal her? ” He asked.

” I do, but it’s going to take 3-4 days to get ready. ”

” 3-4 days? Won’t the poison circulate through her whole body by then? ”

” That’s why we need that necklace. It can help conjure the poison so it won’t circulate fast ” Glinda said and stood up.

” Wait right here ” She added and left.

Axion looked at Phoenix and he tightened his fist in anger.

” You shouldn’t have accepted me, Phoenix, I already rejected you ” He groaned.

” I’m going to make sure you reject me. You just can’t handle the responsibility of being my Phoenix. ”

Glinda came back later with the necklace in her hand. She walked up to the bed and tied it around Phoenix’s neck.

” I think it fell off during the attack ” She spoke up.

” Listen, Axion, you have to deal with her while I get the medicine ready. She is going to be slightly annoying due to the poison inside her body. She might get scared of absolutely nothing, but you have to deal with it. ”

” And also, don’t yell or get angry at her, it will make her more scared and the poison will move faster. ”

” Do I seriously have to deal with her aunt? ” Axion groaned and Glinda glared at him.

” She took care of you nonstop for two days. Try to be appreciative for once and repay the favor, you ungrateful jerk! ” She snapped and stood up.

” I’ll leave now,” She said and headed to the door, but stopped.

” Axion… be responsible and try to do whatever she wants, ok? ”

” I’ll try but she better not annoy me ” Axion shrugged with an eye roll.

Glinda only nodded negatively, letting out a sad sigh, and left.

Phoenix slowly opened her eyes. Looking around, she realized the room was empty. Fear ran through her immediately and she jerked off the bed. She felt a hand on her shoulder, startling her. She turned immediately only to see the princess of terror standing before her.

” Axion!!! ” She yelled at the top of her voice.

Axion ran in immediately and saw Phoenix squatted and hugging her legs, her whole body shaking without control. Phoenix looked up and on seeing him, she quickly ran to him and hugged him.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

” You lied to me. You said you wouldn’t leave. She came again, she wanted to take me ” She mumbled in tears. Axion shushed her, stroking her back.

” Nothing will happen to you ” He assured her and Phoenix pulled out.

” She was here. I’m so scared, Axion, please don’t go. ”

” She wasn’t here, it was just your imagination, ok? ”

” No, she was here. I saw her ” Phoenix insisted.

” I’m telling you she wasn’t here, Phoenix. It was all an illusion ” Axion tried explaining.

” No Axion, she was here ” Axion was already annoyed at her persistence.

” Nobody was here Phoenix, are you deaf?! ” He snapped in anger. Phoenix froze in fear immediately. She squatted and hugged her legs again, her whole body trembling greatly.

” You… are… angry… with… me ” She was choking on her tears already. Axion’s anger vanished.

” What have I gotten myself into? ” He groaned, smacking his forehead. He exhaled and squatted down before Phoenix.

” Phoenix ” He called but she refused to look up. He held her arms and gently helped her stand up.

” Look at me,” He said, and Phoenix slowly looked up.

” I believe you. She was here. I will try not to leave you all alone again, ok? ” He assured her and Phoenix nodded, wiping her tears. She hugged him.

” Don’t go again, please ” She mumbled and Axion’s heart unexpectedly skipped.

LATER AT NIGHT

Axion can be seen groaning in frustration while glaring at Phoenix, who was shivering.

” You need to go take your bath, Phoenix ” Axion groaned.

” I can’t. I’m scared. She might try to kill me in the bathroom. Please come with Axion ” Phoenix said. Axion looked at her in disbelief.

” You want me to watch you… bath… naked? ” He asked just to be sure. Phoenix nodded firmly.

” Are you out of your fucking mind?! ” He almost yelled but swallowed back the words. He tried digesting what Phoenix said instead.

” Me, watch her… bath… naked? How will I be able to do that?! ” His head was spinning in confusion.

” Listen to me Phoenix, you need to bathe all by yourself. I’m sorry, but I can’t watch you do that ” He tried explaining in the calmest tone he could think of.

” But she…

” Don’t you trust me, Phoenix? ” Axion asked.

” I do ” Phoenix mumbled.

” Then believe when I say, you can do it. I promise I’ll stay outside the door in case you need anything, hmm? ” Phoenix nodded slowly.

She exhaled deeply, trying to calm her nervous heart before heading to the bathroom door. She opened it, sparing Axion a last glance before entering.

Axion let out a heave, walking over to the bed. He was about to sit down when,

” Arghhh!! ” Phoenix’s loud and ear-splitting scream made him jerk up.

” Phoenix, are you ok? ” He asked, rushing to the door.

” Axion ” Phoenix cried from inside.

” Please help me. She is here, please!! ” She screamed. Axion couldn’t hold back anymore. He twisted the door handle. Luckily, the door opened and he rushed in.

” Phoenix…” He called but was interrupted on seeing Phoenix, squatting and hugging her legs, naked.

” Fuck! ” He groaned and closed his eyes immediately, turning to face the door.

Phoenix heard his voice and looked up. Without thinking twice, she sprang up and rushed up to him.

” Axion ” She cried and hugged him from the back.

Axion froze on the spot immediately and his brain went dead…
