Chapter 32

DANNY

I am exhausted. Who knew that being pregnant will make you so tired. Courtney and I both grab our quarts of ice cream and head for the couch. Mint chocolate chip for me and cookies and cream for her. It has been a stressful day. At least it is over now. We just have to rely on each other. Easy Peasy.

Courtney started a movie after we both settled in. Probably not the best to eat this much ice cream right now, but we are both pretty stressed. We are both getting into the movie when our front door shoots open.

We both jump up expecting an intruder. When we turn and see a panicked looking Kyle we relax a little. Except when he stalks into the living room we both panic a little. “Anyone care to tell me why I had to find out that you are pregnant from your dad.” He is glaring right at me.

I start backing away. Courtney points at me. “I told her to tell you.”

Great, now she wants to throw me under the bus. Although looking at Kyle right now, I kind of don’t blame her. He looks scary as hell. “Well, you vanished. I didn’t want to make you come back because of a baby.”

He glares at me. “I came to your house tonight to beg you to take me back. Your father greets me in the yard yelling at me about getting one of you pregnant. Imagine my shock when he tells me you are pregnant. I know without a doubt that it is my baby. Why didn’t you call me?”

I backed away and this time hit the wall. “I didn’t want to force you to be with me.”

“Fuck Danny. I love you. Do you not realize that?”

His body pins to mine. “You have a funny way of showing it.”

“I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t do that for the bet. I got confused, I love you so much. I didn’t know if you loved me back. I know you were feeling insecure that day. I just wanted to make you feel better. Then my own desires took over. I thought I went too far. I just need time to think.” He’s so close to me. As I am looking into his face I see the darkening on his jaw.

I cup his cheek. “What happened?”

“Your dad hits hard.” He kisses my temple. “So, do you love me?”

“I thought I was the only one.” I wrap up my arms around his neck and plant the biggest kiss on him that I ever had.

Courtney groans. “Finally. You two have been killing me for months now.”

I laughed and so did Kyle. But before we can take another breath he drops to his knee. “Danielle Baker, will you marry me? I don’t have a ring right this second but I will tomorrow.”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“Kyle. Isn’t this rushing things?”

He gets a serious look. “For one, I have loved you way too long to wait any more. Plus I am not going to have our child born before we are married.”

“Kyle.” I sigh, looking at his earnest face.

“Don’t tell me no Danny.”

I smile at his statement. “And what if I did?”

He stands and picks me up bridal style. “Sorry Courtney, you are alone for the rest of the night.” He carries me to the bedroom.

“What are you doing Kyle?” I feel elated and curious at the same time.

“I am changing your mind.” He closes the door behind us and sets me on the bed. He doesn’t miss a beat as his lips come to mine. I don’t even know how to think. One thing I do know, I am not saying no to Kyle.

He pulls back to pull his shirt off. I stop him from coming back to my lips. “Yes.”

He pauses looking at me. “What?”

“Yes.”

A smile slowly spreads on his face. “You’re going to marry me?”

“Yes.”

“That’s right. My Danny.” He doesn’t stop though. He attacks me like I am his last lifeline.
