“Cancel it,” he snapped.

“Sir?”

“Do I have to repeat myself?”

“No sir,” Adam was about to hang up when Aziz’s words stopped him.

“Tell the crew to prepare my private jet.”

“And that is all for today,” Tessa smiled as she looked at the satisfying face of the board members. “My boss will take over from here.”

Lexi leaned forward on her seat, she would have gotten on her feet but Kira will chew her out in front of all the faces here without a single care in the world.

“I am glad every one of you placed your trust in us and partnered with a small business like us, I trust you have been satisfied with our service for the past six months?” The men and women around her nod their heads with smiles on their faces.

“As my general manager here already informed us, new jewellery designs for our 2022 CELEBRITY TREND will be out in the market soon, but before then, we will have another meeting to discuss which designs will suit everyone’s taste.

Everyone hummed in agreement, and Lexi dismissed the meeting.

“I am so proud of you baby girl,” Kira hugged her from the side and kissed her cheek.

“I couldn’t have done it without my bestie, I made the right decision when I convinced you to join me in running this business,” Lexi cooed.

“Why do you always forget I am the one who does the heavy lifting around here?” Raymond complained, the two women turn to him and laughed at his pouty face.

Ever since Aziz left seven months ago, Lexi locked herself into her room and refused to come out despite everyone’s plea. Her heart was shattered and she almost killed herself when she finally lost it one day but Raymond saved her. She had sneaked out of the house without anyone’s knowledge and strolled the street until she felt suffocated by the air she breathes.

It felt like everything around her was mocking her and she wanted it to end, so she walked into an uncompleted storey building and climbed the topmost floor, ready to jump down when something grabbed her waist and pulled her down. It turns out Raymond had seen her walking aimlessly on the street and knew at once that something was up.

He saved her and took her home, her family made sure she was placed under special watch and Kira took her time to take care of her, especially when they discovered she was three weeks pregnant. It was her wish to become pregnant with Aziz’s child, thinking that would be enough to make him realize just how much he cared for her if her decision to end the relationship didn’t work.

Raymond fell in love with her and it made her heart ache to know her heart belong to Aziz only. When the workload began to weigh down on her, she asked Kira to take over and surprisingly, Raymond was also in the line of event planning, but he was more into making the couples dazzle for their big day and that was how the idea of LEIZ DAZZLE came to fruition.

“You zoned out on us again!” Kira frowned at her.

“No,” Lexi smiled. “This time, I was thinking about how far we have come to make this day a success and I can’t be more thankful to the two of you,” she held their hands, her face glowing.

“And we are glad you didn’t attempt to kill yourself after you found out you are pregnant and stayed alive for my little prince here,” Kira rubbed her protruding stomach fondly while Raymond nodded in agreement.

“Are you both still going to make it for the sleepover today?” She pushed her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear.

Raymond nodded but Kira’s expression turned sour. “I have to go to Vincenzo’s house tonight so I can’t make it,” she frowned.

“Is everything alright between the two of you?” Raymond was quick to ask.

“He is acting strange these days, and I am scared he might be hiding something from me, something that will break apart.”

“That will never happen,” Lexi protested. “Let’s be positive and look at it from another perspective.”

Kira nodded her head but Lexi could see the indecisiveness on her face, Lexi pulled her into a hug and pat her back.

8 PM CALIFORNIA.

Aziz’s car zoomed into his father’s mansion and he parked in the driveway. He got down and walked to the front. Taking deep breaths, he pressed the intercom and as if he were being expected, the door swung open and Daphne’s face came to view. Aziz could tell she was surprised to see him, but she couldn’t hide the look of disappointment that crossed her face.

Had she been expecting to see someone else instead of him?

“You didn’t tell us you will be coming home today,” she smiled and pulled him into a hug, before leading him into the house.

“Your father is in his study, dinner is almost ready,” she told him and walked into the kitchen before he could ask about Lexi. Not wanting to make things awkward for her, he walked into his father’s study instead.

“You didn’t inform me you will be coming, I would have told Daphne to make more food,” Balthas placed the file in his hand down, smiling at his son.

“I only just thought it through this morning, so there was no time to inform anyone,” he settled on the couch. “How has everyone been?”

“I am glad I remarried, you kids would have left me alone in this big mansion all by myself,” Balthas grumbled.

“What do you mean?” Before Balthas could give him an answer, Daphne popped her head into the room and called them out for dinner. The two men left the study and went to the dining room where the food have been placed in large dishes on the table.

The door pinged just as they settled down and Daphne smiled. Aziz heard her voice before he saw her and his heart leapt for joy.

“We are sorry for being late, I suddenly craved chocolate ice cream so we had to stop at the restaurant to get one.”

‘WE?’ Aziz’s question was answered when she walked in with a man holding on to her arm, but that wasn’t what made his heart stop beating.

It was the large swell of her stomach. She was pregnant?

His eyes found hers and he felt his world shattered in front of his eyes.

The love of his life had moved on… She was pregnant for someone else.
