Everybody's expressions changed drastically when they saw Nathan.

Ava seized the opportunity to launch a few moves on his opponents and successfully defeated them all.

Just then, Colin arrived with the Elite Eight and Felidae Battalion.

They emanated a murderous aura and surrounded the place completely.

Nathan asked Penny gently, "Are you okay?"

The latter nodded.

Turning around, Nathan questioned with a frightening gaze, "Can someone tell me what's going on?"

Immediately, Ava dashed over. She explained loudly while saluting Nathan, "Chief Cross, the doctor confirmed that Mrs. Cross is pregnant. These guys came out of nowhere and insisted on arresting Mrs. Cross. They were so rough and impertinent. I was worried that they might hurt Mrs. Cross, so I confronted them. Thankfully, you came in the nick of time. Otherwise, the consequences would have been horrible."

Penny is pregnant?

A dark cloud rolled over Nathan's formerly astounded expression.

Steeling himself, Enrique approached him with a smile plastered on his face and tried to justify himself, "Chief Cross, I'm just discharging my duty to invite Mrs. Cross back to assist in the investigation. Nathan shot him a death stare. “Is this how you invite someone to cooperate with your investigation? You have obviously judged my wife guilty before she's proven innocent and treated her like a criminal!"

Enrique started having ants in his pants. He tried explaining, “Chief Cross, please understand that I had no choice but to perform what I've been tasked to do for the case."

Nathan reproached, "Carrying out your duty? On whose order? Who commanded you to treat my wife like a criminal? Did Erwin ask you to investigate why President Woods' condition has deteriorated? Or did he ask you to arrest my wife?"

The incident had totally infuriated Nathan that he exploded beyond control.

Today, Erwin alleged me for being responsible for the President's

The way Nathan glared at Enrique was like a butcher ready to slaughter the animal in his hands. His eyes lit up menacingly. They were filled with malice and strong murderous intent.

Faced with a livid Nathan, Enrique said in a quavering voice, "C-Chief Cross, I—"

Colin shouted, "Kneel before the Chief Military Governor before you speak!"

As soon as he said that, Colin gave Enrique two swift kicks on his kneecaps.

The latter yelped in pain. Standing on shaky legs, he missed a step and fell to his knees before Nathan and Penny.

Staring at a trembling Enrique,

Nathan uttered indifferently, "Although I've agreed to Erwin's proposal to form a Special Investigation Unit, I also made it crystal clear that I won't let it slide if anyone is deemed to misuse the power bestowed upon him and seize on this incident for personal gains."

Enrique quickly denied, "No, Chief Cross, I didn't. I was just doing what I was supposed to do..."

"Shut up!" Nathan stared coldly into his eyes. "Lift your head up and look at me."

Enrique suppressed his fear and raised his head. What greeted him was a pair of killer eyes!

Without any emotion, Nathan

continued, "Enrique, do you really

think that I'm unaware of what Erwin is up to? What do you take me for? Do you actually think that I'm clueless as to what tricks you guys have up your sleeves? Enrique was silenced by Nathan's fierce and horrifying wrath. He dared not utter a single word to defend himself.

Nathan had enough, and he simply

did not want to waste his time engaging in further conversation with Enrique. He ordered, "Break his legs and send him back to Erwin.
