While waiting for the elevator, Skylar ran into Vera, who was stepping out.

Vera was slightly surprised to see Skylar as she hadn’t expected to run into her here.

Skylar stepped into the elevator as soon as she finished saying that.

Vera just imagined that Skylar had schemed to make Joe fall for her.

The elevator door closed quickly, cutting off whatever Vera had to say. She felt anger well up in her. “This is infuriating!”

Not many people around her would behave like Skylar, full of schemes yet utterly impolite!

Thinking about how Skylar was manipulating Joe, Vera suddenly felt sorry for him.

With that, she glanced toward the guest room nearby and walked over while slipping the ring back onto her finger.

She arrived at the door in a few steps. Then, she knocked gently. “Joe, it’s me.”

“The filming was stopped suddenly today, and Mr. Powell gave me the day off. So, I’m free now. Where are you taking the wedding photos? I’ll go to you.”

Skylar glanced out the car window and said, “We’re no longer taking the wedding photos. Yesterday was enough. So, I’m heading to a friend’s place today. She needs my help. I’ll meet you after that. How’s your stomach? Does it still hurt?”

Natalie thought about what she saw last night and wondered if Skylar had found out about Joe and Vera.

From her voice, Skylar didn’t sound like anything was wrong.
