“You love me so much?” Skylar said.

“Of course, I love you! When you go back to Murida this time, please stay safe. I’ve heard things are a bit unstable over there recently.

“Once you find Joe, bring him back as soon as possible. Nowhere else is as good as here. This place has not only me but also your family:” As Natalie spoke, she became emotional.

She couldn’t bear to see Skylar leave, and she worried about her too. When she first learned that Joe might still be alive, she was genuinely happy for Skylar.

Three years was neither short nor long, but Skylar never gave up looking for him, even when everyone said Joe had died. Natalie couldn’t imagine the amount of pain Skylar had endured all these years.

“What time is your flight tomorrow? I’ll take you,” she offered.

Skylar replied, “It’s an afternoon flight. You’ve been a night owl recently, just get some rest at home. My brother will take me to the airport.”

Natalie nodded and said, “Alright. My sleep cycle has indeed been getting worse lately.”

They chatted for a while longer, and just as Skylar was about to leave, Natalie received a phone

call.

“Mr. Powell got hurt?” Natalie exclaimed in shock.

“How did he get hurt? He accidentally cut his arm with a prop? Lost a lot of blood? I’ll head back right away!”

After hanging up hurriedly, Natalie turned to Skylar and said, “Mr. Powell got injured while filming. It seems serious. I need to go back and check on him.”

“Alright, go quickly,” Skylar said, watching Natalie rush off anxiously.

It seemed like Natalie was the only one who couldn’t see her own feelings. As soon as she heard Austin was hurt, she became extremely worried. novelbin

Two hours later, in a hospital room, most crew members who had come along had already left and Austin’s wound had been treated by a doctor.

However, because of the significant blood loss and the depth and size of the wound, he needed to stay in the hospital for two days to monitor for any signs of infection.

Seeing that Austin was alright, Natalie prepared to leave, but Austin called out to her.

Once the room was empty except for the two of them, Austin asked, “Were you worried about

me?”

Natalie looked at Austin’s pale face, drained from the blood loss. She didn’t avoid the question and admitted directly, “You got hurt in my shop, of course, I’d be worried. Thankfully, you’re okay, Mr. Powell.”

Seeing how Natalie kept addressing him politely, trying to distance herself and draw a line between them, Austin suddenly went quiet.

The silence in the room became awkward, making Natalie feel uneasy.

“It’s getting late, so I won’t bother you anymore, Mr. Powell. I’ll come to visit again tomorrow,” Natalie said.

Being watched by Austin like that made her heart race, filling her with an inexplicable sense of panic. She felt like if she stayed any longer, she might lose control of her rationality.

“Wait,” Austin called out to her.

Natalie paused and turned around, their eyes meeting.

Austin’s expression softened, and he spoke with a hint of resignation, “Am I really that scary?

Natalie then blurted out, “I don’t want to be a lamb walking into a tiger’s den. Mr. Powell, your family wouldn’t accept me. We’re from completely different worlds, and being together would mean facing countless challenges–challenges that can’t be overcome with just feelings.
