Richest Mogul 1246
Chapter 1246
When Skylar saw an unfamiliar number, she thought it was a spam call. So she was a bit surprised when it turned out to be Rosa.
“Ms. Reese, how did you get my number?” she asked.
Rosa replied, “I asked a friend. Anyway, who gave me your number isn’t important. What matters is that I want to meet you.”
At that moment, Skylar was packing her suitcase at Galaxy Villa. Hearing Rosa’s request, she put down the clothes she was folding before saying, “If there’s something you want to say, just say it over the phone.”
Rosa was displeased with Skylar’s attitude. “It’s better to talk in person. If it’s convenient, let’s have dinner tonight.”
Some things were difficult to discuss over the phone. Meeting in person would make her intentions clear, and Rosa believed it would deter Skylar.
However, Skylar just responded, “Sorry, I don’t have time tonight.”
She already had plans to have dinner with Janine and the others, and then spend some time at Natalie’s café. Furthermore, she had to catch a flight tomorrow afternoon.
Rosa’s tone turned cold. “So, in other words, you just don’t want to meet me, right?”
In Rosa’s mind, refusing to meet was a sign of a guilty conscience.
Skylar found Rosa’s attitude a bit ridiculous. “You could say that. We’re not close, so there’s no need to meet up.”
There was no point in wasting time with someone she barely knew, especially since every time they had met, Rosa’s attitude had been unpleasant.
This invitation couldn’t be for anything good either, so it was entirely unnecessary.
Rosa hadn’t expected Skylar to admit it so bluntly. She became furious instantly. “Yes, we aren’t close, and there really is no need to meet up. So, let’s just talk over the phone.”
Skylar put the phone on speaker and continued folding her clothes while listening to Rosa.
“I know what you’re trying to do by appearing in front of Ned multiple times. Let me be clear, Ned and I will be getting married soon. We have many years of history together, and I won’t allow any third party to come between us.
“I don’t care who you were with before, but from now on, stay away from Ned,” Rosa spoke from a position of moral superiority, asserting her status as Ned’s fiancée.
Skylar frowned her brow slightly. “You’re overthinking.”

“Don’t think that everyone is as narrow–minded as you are, Skylar. I know you’re an antique restorer, and if you just focus on your career, your future will be bright.
“There’s no need to take shortcuts and remain a mistress hiding in the shadows. It won’t do you any good,” Rosa continued her lecture.
She had seen plenty of women who wanted shortcuts and liked to seduce other people’s men. It was despicable.
“I was never anyone’s mistress,” Skylar replied before ending the call.
It seemed that the relationship between Rosa and Ned wasn’t as solid as it appeared. If it were, Rosa wouldn’t be so insecure, to the point of reaching out to her.
Skylar had only encountered Ned a few times, and almost every time, Rosa was present. Despite that, Rosa still felt insecure, which spoke volumes. Perhaps, Ned wasn’t as reliable as he seemed.
Thinking about how Ned had invited her to lunch the next day, she frowned again..
Even if she weren’t flying back to Murida, she wouldn’t have accepted his invitation. It was a waste that Ned had a face that resembled Joe’s so much.
With that thought, Rosa, who had just been annoying, didn’t seem quite as bothersome anymore.
Rosa stared at her phone after being hung up on, her eyes filled with anger.
“She actually hung up on me! How rude!”
Before she could finish her rant, she thought about Skylar’s insistence that she had never been-
a mistress, and it struck her–who would believe such a statement? novelbin
