Richest Mogul 1123

Chapter 1123

However, Steven vaguely recalled that he had gone to a bar the previous night, sipping his drink while waiting for someone.

As he thought about this, something suddenly clicked in his mind.

Noticing the rapid change in Steven’s expression, Joe sat up and explained, “You’re in a hotel. Last night, someone slipped you something at the bar, and you happened to run into Annie.” Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

“Annie?” Steven’s face shifted dramatically.

He suddenly remembered where he was. The coincidence of being drugged at the bar and then encountering Annie was too bizarre. Yet, he truly had no recollection of it.

He quickly looked down at himself, searching for an answer.

Joe noticed his concern and continued, “Someone saw you leave the bar with Annie, and they told Skylar. After bringing you to the hotel, Annie left. Don’t worry, nothing happened between you two.”

Hearing that nothing had happened, Steven sighed in relief. “That’s good to hear. I’m sorry for the trouble.”

Joe nodded and said, “You should go to the hospital today. There might still be traces of the drug in your system.”

“Okay.” Steven frowned. He didn’t expect that, in today’s society, someone would brazenly drug people in a bar. If he, as a man, could fall victim to this, then the consequences for a lone woman in a bar would be unimaginable.

With this thought, Steven’s expression darkened.

Joe went to the bathroom first. After a quick wash–up, he came out and said to the now fully awake Steven, “Skylar is resting in the next room. I have some matters to attend to, so you two can have breakfast together before you leave.”

With Joe present, it wasn’t convenient for Skylar and Steven to discuss things.

After Joe left, Steven also went to the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, he first opened the curtains and then checked his phone. There were several missed calls, including one from Skylar and another from Mona.

He decided to return Mona’s call first. When the call connected, he immediately said, “Sorry, something unexpected happened last night.”

“Oh, so that’s what happened. I thought something might have happened to you. I’m glad I didn’t wait too long at the bar. As long as you’re okay.”

Steven replied, “Yeah, I’m fine. I’ll set up a time to meet you in a few days. Just don’t go to that bar again.”

“Okay, I agree. That place is too loud anyway,” Mona responded.

Steven gave a brief acknowledgment.

After a few more exchanges, Steven hung up and dialed Annie’s number. To his surprise, it was a disconnected line.

He raised an eyebrow, deleted the number, and called Skylar instead. She didn’t answer.

But just a minute later, there was a knock on the door. Steven opened it immediately.

“Steven, how are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?” Skylar asked as she looked Steven over carefully.

After a night had passed, Steven appeared a bit fatigued. But other than that, he seemed fine. However, Joe sent her a message stating that Steven couldn’t remember what had happened the previous night. That kind of drug could easily numb someone’s nerves.

The thought sent a shiver down her spine. Steven chuckled lightly, seeing the worry in her eyes and said, “It’s nothing serious. I was just careless.”

“Steven, you’re handsome, so it’s easy for people to target you. Just be cautious in such places from now on.” Skylar couldn’t help but think how dangerous it could be for a man to be so good–looking.

Over the past two years, Steven had grown more mature. Given his striking looks, it was no wonder he attracted attention.

Steven nodded with a smile. “Got it. I’ll be careful.”

“Why did you suddenly go to a bar? Steven, are you d
