The person who had been bumped into also froze in surprise when she saw Steven.

After they finished eating, Steven and Charles went their separate ways to take care of their

“What happened to Lizzie’s family?” she asked, exchanging glances with him.

“She said her brother has been trying to take his own life these past few days. She suspects there’s something wrong at home. About a year ago, he suddenly changed. He became depressed and stopped talking to anyone around him,” Joe said.

While speaking, they changed into slippers before heading inside. Skylar took two bottles of yogurt from the fridge and handed one to Joe. Then, they both sat down on the couch.

Skylar said, “That does sound unusual. If it’s convenient, let’s go tomorrow. I’ll be taking Harvey and my mom on a trip in a couple of days. I’m worried that it might be too late if we wait until I get back.”

She had mentioned the trip with Harvey to Joe before.

However, hearing Skylar mention the vacation now made Joe’s expression darken slightly.

“Have you thought about how you will make it up to me when you return?”
