PRIDE
Carla stomped her feet angrily to Nolan’s room with anger coursing through her body.
She couldn’t believe that Layla had raised her hand to slap her, that was a big insult to her face.
She believed that she would have been in Layla’s place, if she hadn’t come to steal her space away.
She was definitely going to deal with Layla but now, she wanted Nolan to do that.
She knocked at the door of Nolan’s room loudly.
“Who’s it?” She heard Nolan ask.
“It’s me Carla. I have something to tell you..” she began and waited patiently for Nolan to come open the door.
The moment she heard him place his hands on the door knob she burst into tears.
She was going to play the victim and make Layla look like the bully.
She knew Nolan would believe her, Nolan believed that she was a saint. So he’ll believe and reprimand Layla.
Further still, he could sti throw Malcolm out of the house.
That would be a win win for Carla.
Killing two birds with one stone.
“Caela what’s the problem?” Nolan asked with a frown on his face.
“I can’t just believe what happened today nolan…” a sob slipped her lips as she wiped off the fake tears off the corner of her eyes.
She was going to make sure Layla paid dearly for this, first Nolan was going to teach her a lesson.
“What happened and why are you crying? Layla’s coronation would start by evening, why are you not ready yet?” Nolan bombarded her with questions.
This was Layla’s big day, and he didn’t want anything to go wrong.
“Nolan the thing is that I was preparing for Layla’s engagement. I wanted to make sure nothing went wrong. When suddenly Layla came and slapped me…” she broke down into another round of tears again.
She knew how much Nolan cared for her so he would never tolerate anyone treating her wrongly.
“Layla slapped you?” Nolan asked with furrowed brows.
Hearing that Layla slapped someone sounded so absurd to his ears.
“Yes. She’s so mean . She goes around parading herself as the Luna, she has not even been crowned yet and she knows no one would dare raise a hand in her because she’s carrying your child. Layla is so mean…”. She deadpanned putting on a sad face.
“Look Carla…” Nolan began.
“I don’t know what happened between the both of you that made Layla slap you, but I’m sure for whatever reason she did that. It was for a very good reason…” Nolan pointed out.
He had been with Layla for almost four months now and could decipher from things she could do and could not.
Layla was someone he would consider timid, she hardly stood up for herself and got bullied by everyone.
She endured a lot of things and loved to suffer all of her burdens alone.
So hearing that Layla slapped Carla came as a surprise but he knew that it was for a very good reason.
Besides Carla was childish and must have done something to annoy Layla.
“What did you say?” Carla suddenly became angry as she heard his words.
Did Nolan just support Layla?
” I know you did something to annoy her..” Nola pointed out.
“I can’t believe you Nolan. I can’t believe that you’ll choose that weak woman over me. Layla is a nobody. She has no parents and her family disowned her. She has no name and yet she dared raise her filthy hands on me. Instead of you punishing her, you’re blaming me for annoying her…” Carla blabbed as she scoffed in disbelief. That was a huge blow to her ego.
“Why would I punish her?” Nolan asked not wanting to lose his cool on Carla.
“Huh?” Carla stammered.
“Look Carla. I’m only letting you go this one time. The next time you utter any nonsense about Layla. You get something worse than a slap…” Nolan warned his eyes blazing with anger while he pointed at Carla.
“She prides herself like a queen. She’s too pompous. She slapped me Nolan!!” Carla drew out not wanting to accept defeat.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
“She should parade herself like a queen. That’s what she is..”
“Don’t get me angry Carla…” Nolan warned her.
“And it is high time you start respecting her as your Luna..” Nolan added.
“I…I….” Carla stammered as she was short of words.
Things just went wrong and she ended up being scolded by Nolan, not Layla.
“Today is a good day. If not, you’d have definitely gotten punished for uttering a word against Layla. Take this as a warning…” he said and he slammed the door on her face.
Carla took in deep breaths to try and control her cool. She lost, again, to Layla.
