Chapter73 Memory
Memory
Onlookers' attention was attracted to a tall figure standing nearby by the word "Daddy".
Bonny bounced up from the bench and dashed towards the man standing behind Brandon. The man
naturally crouched down and welcomed her into his embrace.
"Why are you here, daddy?"
It was the same question what Richard wanted to ask Bonny. But when he saw there was no adult with
her, he picked her up and said, "Only you and Brandon?"
Richard was a guest at the university today. He'd just finished his speech when he and his assistant
passed by here.
People at the fruit shop didn't doubt Richard's relationship with the kids. Probably it was because
Brandon looked quite similar to Richard.
The owner of the fruit shop said, "No wonder you guys are a family. You all look quite beautiful."
"Mommy let me wait for her here with Brandon," Bonny said in Richard's arms. Sunlight bathed on her NôvelDrama.Org content.
small pinky face, which made her look even more adorable.
Richard slightly frowned hearing this.
How could Pearl leave her children here alone!
At the moment, Brandon walked towards Richard and politely greeted him, "Uncle Richard."
"How long have you guys been waiting here?" Richard nodded and asked.
"Almost half an hour."
"Half an hour?" Richard frowned even more.
His assistent Ted said in surprise, "Dr. Yonng is way too careless. What if someone were to kidnap her
kids?"
Richard looked at his watch. It was almost 12 o'clock now. Then he asked Bonny and Brandon, "Are
you guys hungry? I'll take you for lunch."
"Sure! I want ice cream! And it must be blueberry flavour!" Bonny said excitedly.
But Brandon quickly rejected, "No, we shouldn't do that. Mommy told us to wait for her here."
"But I'm starving!" Bonny looked aggrieved. "And it's so hot standing here!"
Brandon wasn't bothered to expose the fact that Bonny had had a bunch of fruits just now and she was
already full. And he didn't accept Richard suggestion either.
Ted looked at the time and reminded, "The headmaster is still waiting for you, Mr. Zellweger."
Days during August were hot and long, with the sun emanating its scorching and unforgiving sunlight.
Richard couldn't just leave these two kids here alone.
Then he turned to Ted and ordered, "I'll to the headmaster later on alone. You take them for lunch."
Dumbstruck for a moment, Ted then nodded, "Sure, sir."
After that, Richard said to Brandon, "I'll call your mother and send her the restaurant address. She will
find you there. Don't worry."
Brandon was more mature than his younger sister. He was not a kid who could be easily fooled around.
If Brandon hadn't already known Richard, he wouldn't agree to his suggestion. Even if Richard was
actually well-acquainted with Pearl, he was unwilling to let his mom have a further connection with
Richard.
Just as Brandon was about to turn down Richard's offer, Bonny had already happily held Ted hand and
left with him.
"Bonny!" Brandon had no way but to follow them as well.
Richard then went to the headmaster's office. Along the way, he called Pearl.
At the moment, Pearl came out of the conference room. The sun overhead was merciless as its
sunlight shone so brightly that she couldn't even open her eyes. Despite the fact that she had not
returned the university for the last seven years, she remembered every corner of it. Every student knew
which shortcut was the fastest to reach the backstreet, including herself.
The old Block A of Ocpeace Medical University was the first dorms built, but now it had become a
student lounge.
Pearl was greeted by a path bordered by willow trees on each side as she went down the stairs of
Block A towards the entrance. Those trees even had some little yellow flowers in full blossom.
As she stared at the empty path in front of her, her footsteps slowed down unconsciously. Nostalgia
took over her mind.
The place had been one of the few places in university where she could date Richard. Back then their
relationship was kept a secret, so they had to find specific places where their schoolmates and
teachers didn't know.
At that time, whenever she walked down the stairs from Block A, a few steps were all she needed
before she could see a familiar figure waiting for her,
"You're late again, Pearl. Treat me on dinner."
"Why? Dr. Wale refused to end class on time. How could you blame me on that?"
"I've waited for you for almost half an hour, same as the last time. I guess you owe me two dinners,
hha!"
"Richard Zellweger! Is this how you treat your own girlfriend? Break up!"
"No such option."
"How shameless."
......
Pearl seemed to lost in her memory.
She had always thought that time would heal everything, but it turned out that she was wrong. Seven
years was quite long, long enough for her to forget a man and everything connect with that him.
However, she still recalled every detail of their moments shared together back then when she returned
to university. Scenes of the past intruded her mind.
She even clearly remembered clearly when Richard had first held her hand. It was summer and their
hands were sweaty.
At this moment, she even felt that he would appear from the corner ahead.
"Pearl."
Her face turned stiff when she suddenly heard someone calling her name. Her palms were even
sweating uncontrollably.
"Pearl."
The figure standing at the end of the path was different from the one who Pearl had hoped for. She
breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Alexander? Why are you doing here?"
Alexander's forehead was covered with sweat. It took him a few steps before he was able to catch up
with Pearl. "Pearl, I'm here to apologise. I didn't know that Jeanette would do such a thing. I'm truly
sorry."
Alexander was obviously a bit nervous facing Pearl.
This was someone who had gone through many problems in life.
Pearl, who was initially a little annoyed, gradually calmed down at this moment. "It's okay, Alexander.
I've found them. They're at the backstreet. I'll go to pick them up now."
Alexander breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Good. I'll go with you. Maybe... Maybe I can treat you and
your children on a meal."
"It's okay, Alexander. You don't have to do that."
Pearl rejected him and just said, "I'll take my leave then."
"Pearl." Alexander raised his hand and blocked her way. With his arm stretched out, Alexander had
stopped Pearl from leaving.
Pearl's face tensed. "What do you mean, Alexander?"
