My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2086

Chapter 2086

Freya was still very competitive. She always compared herself to everyone, and now she was comparing our children. I retorted, "It's not a burden, it's a good kind of concern. Having an independent son is good, but the joy of having a daughter is indescribable. As parents, we have the responsibility to protect them, so there's no such thing as calling them a burden."

She shrugged, indicating that she agreed. "Perhaps I'm just used to being alone ever since I was a kid. I never got to experience what it was like to be clingy all the time. However, you're right, forget about it."

I smiled at her. I didn't hold it against her.

Having known Freya for such a long time, I knew her very well. She had grown up pampered by her parents. Although there wasn't a lot of affection between her and her siblings, she had a vigorous temper when it came to love. When she fell in love with Zachary, she couldn't stand being apart from him for even a second. This was what I called affection. Nowadays, she had turned cold and indifferent, but to me, I could tell that it was just her form of self defense due to extreme disappointment.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

After all, so long as you didn't fall in love, nor made the effort to, you would never get hurt.

After figuring out what to say, I walked up to Aurelia and prepared to bring her to see Neal.

Considering that it has been about a week since Amy and her husband brought Neal back with them, paying them a visit shouldn't be an issue.

Aurelia lit up the second she heard Neal's name. She happily ran up to her room to get changed.

Freya stood next to me with her arms crossed, watching as the little girl joyfully jumped up and down in excitement. She casually reminded me, "Why don't we do a little background check first? She'd be reluctant to let the kid stay there if you guys see something bad."

"I think it'll be fine."

When Neal left, Evan gave him a phone, reminding him to call the emergency number if something bad happened to him. There was no news from him for now, which was enough to prove that he was living very well with his new family.

In fact, we had very strictly filtered

through all the interested parties et

who wanted to adopt him. Since Freya probably didn't know about this, she was worried for nothing.

Shortly after, Aurelia had changed into a new dress and a small hat. She walked down the stairs with a big smile on her face. Wynn followed close behind her.

He should be having his online classes in his study, why was he coming downstairs?

"Wynn, what's the matter?" I asked.

"Nothing, Mom." Wynn stood in front of me, looked up at me then said, "I'm coming with you."

Before I could respond, he walked

past me and went to Evan, who was guarding the side door. He said, "Mr. Clark, please arrange a few men and a couple of cars for us. Oh, and please come with us as well."

"Very well, Master Wynn."

As soon as he said this, Evan turned around and left the living room.

It was just then that I noticed that Wynn had changed out of his loungewear: It was obvious that he had already made up his mind. He had only been informing me about his decision, he wasn't asking for my permission.

I sighed helplessly. He was literally a chip off the old block.

I shared a car with Freya and Aurelia while Evan was in another car with Wynn. A couple of bodyguards followed us from behind in a separate vehicle.

Two hours later, we had reached our destination.
