Chapter 2075
Chapter 2075
The bodyguards were using much more effort to resuscitate Neal compared to Aurelia, but he wasn't responding to it.
"What's the matter?" I asked nervously.
A bodyguard who was completely soaked explained, "When we rushed over, this little fella was holding onto Miss Aurelia. I guess she must have choked on a lot of water!"
As the bodyguard said this, he had already done several rounds of CPR on Neal. But Neal still hadn't opened his eyes and remained unconscious. One of the bodyguards picked him up and rushed away, "Get out of the way, call Doctor Aldred, quickly!"
Doctor Aldred was the Roberts family's personal physician. He stayed in the neighboring villa and was able to arrive within a few minutes.
The entire Roberts household was in chaos. Amy and her husband were worried about Neal, so they followed the bodyguards.
Although Aurelia had already woken up and Hendrix was with her, I decided to go back into the room to calm her down.
Sure enough, I could hear Aurelia sobbing from
the stairs.
She was just a child after all. She was frightened and couldn't control her emotions.
When I entered her bedroom, Aurelia was in Hendrix's arms. Tears and snot were all over her face.
When I walked to her bedside, she immediately ran over to ask for a hug. "Mummy, I want a hug..."
I held her in my arms, gently patted her on the back and whispered to comfort her, "It's okay, daddy and mommy are both here. It's okay, don't worry."
It took a long time for Aurelia to calm down.
I helped Aurelia change into some fresh clothes. I was afraid that she might catch a cold from her wet clothes.
While combing her hair, she suddenly asked, "Mommy, is Neal okay?"
I was stunned for a moment before I collected myself.
"Do you like Neal very much?" Realizing that something was
wrong, I asked Aurelia to turn around and look at me. I asked her very seriously, "Aurelia, tell me, how did you fall into the swimming pool? Didn't your uncle teach you how to swim?"
"Yes, he did." Aurelia nodded with her innocent face.
"Then how did you drown?" I asked.
She pouted and gave me a pitiful look. She slowly lowered her head. "Neal can't swim. I wanted to teach him, but Neal wouldn't go into the water So I swam by myself. I didn't I know how far I had gone. When I wanted to get out, I was too tired..."
"So Neal obviously can't swim, but in order to save you, he jumped into the water. If the bodyguards hadn't come in time, you and Neal would have both drowned. Aurelia, do you think what you did was right?" didn't want to blame the children, but this was a matter of life and safety. It was best if they knew how serious it actually was.
To my surprise, Neal wasn't a bad person at all. He was brave enough to risk his life to save Aurelia.
Aurelia brought her head even lower and sobbed. "I know I made a mistake, mommy. I won't do it again..."
She sounded like she was about to cry again.
Aurelia was always exceptionally lively and she rarely ever cried or felt sad. She had learnt a valuable lesson today.
"As long as you learn from your mistakes. Since Neal saved you, what should you do?" I asked.
"I'm going to see Neal, thank him and apologize to him." Aurelia pursed her lips with her eyes all watery, looking very sincere.
With that, I gave her a nod.
As we walked out of the bedroom, Hendrix, who was standing outside, had guessed what had happened. He picked up Aurelia and walked off.
Amy and her husband waited nervously at the door. They were waiting for us to see them before they would walk in.
"Mr. and Mrs. Roberts." Doctor Aldred was cleaning up after treating Neal. When he spotted us, he immediately put everything down and came to greet us.
"Hello," Hendrix replied indifferently. "How is Neal?"Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
"He's not in a critical condition anymore. However, due to lack of oxygen for an extended period of time, he is still a little weak. He will need to recuperate for some time."
