Chapter 2052
Chapter 2052
Charles asked this question. As Aaron had told him about the paper from the oil painting, the former cadre was clearly interested.
As soon as he said this, a maid came in and reported, "Sir, Mr. Jordan is here."
Hearing this, Charles took the opportunity to crack a joke. "Oh, speak of the devil!"
"Is he here to plead for mercy for Nathan and his wife?" Freya guessed.
Aaron raised his brows and said in a slightly angry tone, "If he has the nerve, he can try me."NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Hendrix said calmly, "Please invite him in."
I didn't think Jordan would be so kind. If he genuinely cared about Nathan and his wife, he wouldn't have watched them fall for Hendrix's trap. There must be another reason for his visit.
Sure enough, when he walked in, Jennifer was still by his side.
To be precise, Jennifer was tied up with a bundle of rope. Her hair was in a mess, her body was tied up, and only one shoe was dangling from her feet. She looked like a struggling beast, which looked completely different to her usual prideful self.
"Take the children upstairs." After giving his orders to the servants, Hendrix stood up and walked towards the door. He stood in front of Jordan and his men near the stairs.
Upon receiving their orders, the servants hurried to take the children away. Somehow, Wynn managed to escape and stood in front of Jordan.
"Uncle Jordan." Wynn greeted respectfully. He looked up at him with a serious look on his face. Tm nearly done with the book you gave me. When are you free to teach me?"
Children didn't understand the complexity of adults. He only saw Jordan as a good teacher and friend, so Wynn was naturally frank and enthusiastic towards him.
Wasn't this the same with Anne and Josiah from before?
Although villains were terrible
people, a person pretending to be a wolf in sheep's clothing was much worse. The former would still give us the chance to react, but once the latter took action, it was too late.
As the saying goes, make a mistake, learn a lesson. I would never place my child in such a devious trap ever again.
"Wynn," I called out and raised my hand, signaling for him to come over.
When Wynn turned around, he realized that it was me who was calling him over. He immediately ran over.
Holding his hand, I gently tapped his chubby cheeks and said, "The adults have something important to talk about. Go upstairs with Anne to take care of Aurelia, okay?"
To Wynn, his mother's request was law and taking care of his sister was his mission. There was no reason for him to reject me. He nodded, and followed Anne up the stairs.
When they had disappeared from
view, Jordan walked inside with a cheekydook on his face. "I'm here to celebrate a successful takeover from my brother. Won't you invite mein?"
Hendrix reached out and blocked his way. His face looked very stern, as if to warn others not to mess around with him.
He didn't say anything, but his demeanor was very unwelcoming.
The two brothers had finally met each other and faced off with one another. Eventually Jordan was the first to give in.
He took a step back and stood still. He signaled to the bodyguards behind him, who immediately stepped forward with Jennifer and pushed her to the ground.
Jennifer fell to the ground with a
loud thud and gasped in pain. She struggled like a leech and cursed, "Jordan Marshall, I am your sister How dare you treat me this way? I only took what I deserved. I just want to be with my beloved forever. What sin have I committed?"
