Sandy pulled her phone away from her ear a little when she heard the door bell ring, she looked around the room hoping to spot Bianca anywhere..

“Bianca-

“I’m on it!” Bianca declared walking to the door, she pulled it open only for Olivia to brush past her and head straight to the kitchen..

She opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of water..

“Someone seems to be in a bad mood” Bianca giggled softly, her brows furrowed slightly wondering where Kelvin was since he didn’t come in after her…

She turned to Olivia who was drinking water from the plastic bottle like someone who had been thirsty for a whole week..

“Yeah.. she just got back.. I’ll call you later, bye”

Sandy placed her phone away, she arched a brow at the annoyed expression on her daughter’s face, maybe things didn’t go exactly as planned..

“Where is Kelvin?” She asked looking around for the kid..

Olivia tossed the empty recyclable bottle into the bin, she faced the two who were expecting answers from her..

“They didn’t take him away right?!” Bianca asked aggressively, she was ready to pull down that family if that seemed to be the case..

Olivia sighed “He’s alright.. he stopped by at Jonah’s apartment.. he and Kiara are having a play date”

“Then what’s with the sour expression? how did it go? and what was their reaction? I spoke to Anita a few minute ago and she sounded a bit faint too.. tell me what’s wrong?”

She walked around the kitchen counter rolling her eyes hard at her mum, she was so worrisome, that’s how all mother’s were..

“Can you believe what Damien and his mum are suggesting? they want the both of us to get engaged.. isn’t that insane?” She questioned hoping to receive an affirmative nod from the two, but Instead she got the opposite..

“Really?!” They bursted blinking their eyes at her, she cowered back gently with a confused expression on her face..

“Yeah.. but why do you both look elated about the news?”

Sandy exchanged gazes with Bianca as a broad grin smeared on their faces..

“Of course we are! don’t worry about anything honey! I’ll make a quick call to Anita and ask her when exactly they want the engagement to hold”

Olivia’s brows knotted, she opened her mouth to speak but her mum walked past her and out of the room..

“Why does my mum behave this way?”

Bianca shrugged picking up her laptop from the table, she clutched it to her chest with a toothy smile..

“I better start searching for the most prettiest gowns online.. and also stilettos.. that’s my way of helping out too”

Olivia stood rooted to the ground as she watched Bianca scurry off her sight..

Was she the only one who opposes things in this apartment? no one ever agrees to her words..

Damien moved to the large window in his office with his phone pressed against his ear, he tucked his other hand into his pocket..

“I want to know who he was and how he got into the party last night” He ordered and tossed his phone back on the desk .

He raked his fingers through his dark hair with a small groan..

It was obvious everything was preplanned, Olivia was meant to be publicly shamed last night if he hadn’t arrived on time..

Who knows what that psycho would have done to her if he wasn’t there.. well it’s not like thing turned out pretty well either but this was far better..

The door to his office opened and in came Bella who had a bored expression on her face, since Damien and Olivia’s scandal got out, she had lost her sense of reasoning..

She cried herself to sleep last night knowing well that nothing can ever happen between she and her boss..

All because of Olivia.. and speaking of her, she didn’t bother to show up today which made her workload drastically increase..

“Boss.. you sent for me”

Damien rested his gaze briefly on her before pointing a finger to his desk..

“Sought those out.. and you’re to cover for Olivia in the next two days just Incase she doesn’t make it to work”

She forcefully nodded trying to maintain the faint smile on her lips..

She turned around and stomped out of the room…

A slap fell on a man’s cheek who wore a face cap on his head, his hands fisted by his side and in the next second, his hand wrapped around the lady’s slender neck..

“Alexa!” Rihanna screamed out in shock trying to pry long beard’s hand from Alexa’s neck..

The latter choked and gasped for air as his hand tightened around her neck..

“Get lost!” he shoved Rihanna aside and faced Alexa once more..

“I’ve tolerated your attitude for quite sometime now and I’m fed up with it! your brother saw my face last night and is after me! –

He paused releasing his grip around her neck “And I need part of the payment to leave the country as soon as possible!”

Alexa held the table behind her for support as she gasped continuously..

This wasn’t what she had planned! this fool was blackmailing her and she didn’t really have the amount that he was asking for..

“You didn’t do the job.. infact you ruined it! and you dare ask for money?” Rihanna questioned..

She would have given him the large sum that they owe but it will only arouse suspicion from her family..

“I hope you both aren’t trying to make a fool out of me? because I’ll go straight to your family and tell them the whole truth!”

“Fine! just give us forty eight hours to arrange the money.. in the meantime lay low for a while” Alexa gritted massaging her neck gently..

Red streaked lines could be seen on her neck, evidence of the pressure Long beard applied earlier..

Long beard snorted, he stared at them in amusement, they both belonged to wealthy families and they needed two whole days to get him a measly sum?

“Are you both kidding me?! two days? is this a trap?!”

Rihanna took a deep breath in and faced him once more..

“You heard her right? get out of here before anyone sees you.. and don’t you dare make that mistake of coming into the Sterling’s territory or else you have a death wish!”

Long beard stared back at them once more before walking to the window to leave the same way he came..

The door suddenly opened startling the three, Anita walked in casually..

Her eyes fell on the tall figure in the room, she noticed the girls suddenly froze up staring at her in shock..

“Who is he?” she inquired with a narrowed gaze at the two..

Her eyes widened, what was he doing in her daughter’s room? was he a thug? or a thief?

Alexa snapped out of her daze staring at long beard who was fidgeting, so much for a tough guy..
