Chapter 14
Everyone knew Selena was gentle, maybe even a bit shy, so much so that she was practically invisible despite always being by Everett's side these past three years. She hardly ever said a word, let alone traded sharp barbs.
Margot's smile slipped for a moment, her face flushing red and paling white in turns. She was used to being the star of the show and couldn't bear to hear such words. Margot glared at Selena, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "Selena, you've been putting on this act, pretending to be all gracious and forgiving and even suggesting a divorce to play the long game. Do you really think this will let you keep clinging to Everett?"Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Margot shook her head. "Pathetic. No matter what you do, you'll never win Everett's heart. You'll only make him despise you more."
Selena's smile didn't waver. "Well, that's not your concern. As long as I'm still married to Everett, you'll always be in the shadows. I'm the type who loves a challenge the more you provoke me, the more I want to live happily ever after with Everett, leaving you and your... little secret out in the cold."
Margot was completely caught off guard, her mind buzzing as she exchanged bewildered glances with Wendy.
Who on earth was this woman?
Margot was fuming, her chest rising and falling as Wendy quickly tried to soothe her, "Calm down, darling. Reporter S from Ink & Insight will be here soon. Securing that interview is what's important."
Landing an interview with Ink & Insight would boost Margot's social standing, making her an even better match for Everett.
As for Selena, her sharp words were nothing but hot air!
Thinking this, Margot sneered, "Get security!"
Wendy left to fetch the guards.
Yet Selena was as cool as a cucumber, sitting back and leisurely sipping her coffee.
Margot's anger flared up again at this sight. Smiling arrogantly, she said, "Selena, do you know who I'm meeting? The famous chief journalist, S, from Ink & Insight, has been abroad studying and kept a low profile for three years. Her

comeback is marked by an interview with me, and every story she
touches turns to gold."
"You were never even close to being in my league Once I'm featured in Ink & Insight, the gap between us will be like night and day. Well, someone like you, without a career, who just hangs on to a man and leeches off him, wouldn't get it. No Wonder Everett doesn't value you."
Selena's smile was mysterious. "Oh, aren't you impressive?"
No matter what Margot said, it was like trying to punch a cloud. Margot's expression grew darker by the moment.
Just then, Wendy returned with the security guards, nodding to them. "Throw her out!"
As the burly guards closed in on Selena, she stood up slowly, her eyes fixing on Margot, who was busy fixing her makeup.
With a slight smile, she calmly said,
"I forgot to introduce myself. I
