Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 13

Dressed in a flowing white gown, the elegant woman glided in with grace, her agent, Wendy, trailing behind in a crisp black business suit.

Selena was genuinely taken aback to find herself face to face with Margot. They hadn't crossed paths in three years. Whether she'd been avoiding Selena on purpose or that jerk, Everett, had just been too protective, she couldn't quite tell. Either way, the timing was ironic, given their impending divorce, and here they were, bumping into each other.

Margot was just as surprised to see Selena there. But then realization hit her-Selena, knowing she couldn't win Everett's heart, was trying to flaunt her status as Mrs. Bennett to push her out of the picture. She actually tracked her down here. How brazen!

Before Selena could get a word in, Margot, towering in her high heels, spoke with disdain, "Selena, get out. I booked this room for an important guest. I don't have time for you, and you can't afford the loss you'd cause me."

Selena paused, lowering the business card she was about to offer, and with a smirk, she raised an eyebrow. "You're meeting a journalist, aren't you? What's on the agenda? How you're shamelessly trying to bust up a marriage?" Her voice was calm and collected as if she were just talking about the weather, but the sarcasm was razor-sharp.

Margot, caught off guard by Selena's bold comeback, froze for a moment before her expression darkened. "Selena, you know who the real homewrecker is. After three years of clinging on, are you still dreaming Everett will love you?"

Margot flipped her hair with a

triumphant glint in her eyes and said, "Why make it hard for another.

.n

woman, Selena? For your own pride and your family's reputation,at's best to part on good terms."

Meanwhile, Wendy discreetly closed the lounge door and obligingly brought over two cups of coffee, setting one in front of each of them.

Margot frowned slightly and shot her a look. "I can't drink coffee now. You forgot again."

"Oh, right, my mind's been all over the place," Wendy said, quickly picking up the coffee. "I'll get you some water."

Selena saw right through their little

act. It was just a ploy to stress that Margot was carrying Everett's child hinting that if Selena had any

self-respect, she'd step aside

gracefully before the pre child

became obvious.

Selena had been childless for three years. Everett clearly did not want a child with her, and now that Margot was pregnant, Selena knew the Bennett family would naturally side with Margot and the baby.

But instead of getting angry, Selena

chuckled. Twirling a pen between

her slender fingers, she looked Margot up and down casually. "Whether Everett likes me or not, I'm still hi legal wife. And you... you're just a mistress hiding in the shadows. You should feel lucky that I'm not dealing with you. Still gonna challenge me head-on?"

"Do you think being a mistress is something to brag about? Isn't there a part of you worried your family would be rolling in their graves from the shame of your so-called honorable actions?"Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
