Chapter 28

chapter 28

In the tunnel up ahead, a lady was pushed to the ground by a man.

“Ella Moede, you sickly woman with asthma, it’s only because of my kindness that you could marry me! If you can’t take a hint and keep meddling with my matters, don’t blame

for killing you!”

The man was somewhat handsome. He wore a suit and leather shoes. His figure was slender and tall.

The woman slumped on the floor and looked at him in despair.

“Joseph! Does it make you so upset that I came here? Am I not pretty enough? Do you think tean’t be seen in public?

The man mocked her, “Ella, you’ve been following me around since graduating from university. All you’re good for is taking care of my parents. What else can you bring to the table?

warning you, don’t bother me and Ms. Chandler. If I get to marry her, I’m breaking up with you. You can’t help me with business. But she’s different. The Chandler Family is a rich and powerful force in potoo Town. What are you compared to them?”

He continued, “Do you even know how hard it was for me to talk about business? I have to suck up to people and bend over backwards just for an insignificant order! My liver’s practically bleeding out from all the wine I’ve had!

“But with Ms. Chandler, things are different. She can ensure our family only gets richer.

“I’ve already won her heart. Soon enough, she’ll have my child. So stop pestering me, or else! With your asthma, I could take your life whenever I want

“Not to mention, you can’t even bear children with this illness of yours! The Moore bloodline cannot end here, so know your place,” he said before lacking Ella.

The lady was helpless, hurt and furious. She watched in pain as the man she had loved for five years turned cruel toward her.

“Couch! Cough!” Ella’s asthma started acting up. Her chest felt tight and her breathing sped up

“Joseph, help, save me, please…”

Enough shouting,” a woman dressed luxuriously said as she walked out.

She mocked from atop her high horse, “Ella Moore, blame your family for being unable to be of use to my son. Let him off the book. Your asthma is acting up anyways, so it’s better if you just died like this ”

Ella was already furious. Hearing the woman say this made her so mad her eyes rolled back as she slowly fainted.

It was her fault after all. After two whole years of suffering, she could finally give up.

Her husband was having an affair. Her mother–in–law was evil. She brought all this upon herself.

That woman steeled hersell and said, “Ella, blame your bad circumstances. Don’t put the blame on my shit you die.” Then, they left

To Scarlett, this was a familiar scene. Her mother–in–law spoke to her just like that.

She was about to head over, but saw Eliza walk over instead. She stopped in her tracks.

Ella held onto the ends of Eliza’s dress. “Miss, please help me. Help, call an ambulance….” “Get lost! Who do you think yo

(you are, touching my skirt? Do you know how expensive this is? “What if your cheap clothes get mine dirty? Can you even afford to pay for these? NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

After Elza left, Scarlett walked up to Ella quickly. She took a pill from her bag and tedit to her

Then, she sat her upright.

The medicine worked quickly. Within minutes, Ella strained to open her eyes and saw Scarlett. Tears still remained on the comers of her eyes.

“Did you save me?”

Her voice was still terribly hoarse.

Scarlett stared at her pale complexion. She truly sympathized with what Ella went through.

“Yes. You’ve got asthma. Don’t move about too much. I’ve fed you some medicine to alleviate the condition, but it’s not completely healed. If you want to cure it completely, find mein half a year”

She said that to give her some hope. She wanted to give her some reason to keep living

“It can be cured completely, and you’ll be able to bear children,Scarlett added.

“Really?” Ella said, full of emotion. Could she really be cured?

“Well, you’ve got to live that long to lindout.”

Scarlett helped her up

Ella was stunned She laughed boterly and asked, “Did you see all that earlier?”
