Chapter 171 Buy Them Again

Though Damien took his temper out on Clarissa in bed, he didn‘t make her look bad in public. He didn‘t

allow her to submit a claim for the money spent on the equipment, though.

Clarissa felt that perhaps her mother was right. ‘It‘s not easy for a couple to get together. Since our

days are numbered, it‘s better for me to enjoy them while I can‘

She wanted to make up with Damien.

After all, he wasn‘t the one who‘d set Joseph up.

A few days later, Clarissa received a parcel from abroad. It was wrapped up nicely.

She knew this was Damien‘s underwear.

She figured that she would probably be back at work by the time the parcel arrived, so she had it

delivered to the company.

During lunch, Clarissa put the parcel into a small bag and brought it out with her. She planned on

bringing it to Damien‘s office after she was done eating.

“What did you buy?” Lily asked when she saw Clarissa holding something.

“I bought something for him.”

“Who? President Lawrence? What is it?”

“Underwear.”

Lily tutted. “You could‘ve just had it delivered to your house, yet you chose to have it delivered to the

company to show us singles up.” She gave Clarissa a look.

“You don‘t get it.” Clarissa was afraid that the delivery service would disturb Grandpa Lawrence if she

had them deliver it to the villa. On the other hand, if the parcel were to be temporarily stored

somewhere, she would forget to collect it.

“Hurry up and give it to him. He‘ll be overjoyed.”

Clarissa paused mid–meal. Would he?

“What‘s up with that? Why do you have to wait till he‘s not around?”

“I don‘t want to see him!”

“You still have to sleep with him even if you don‘t want to see him.”

“We don‘t talk in bed.” Clarissa thought about how little they‘d talked over the past few days.

He seemed to be taking his anger out on her, while she was doing her best to soothe him.

Clarissa went to give Damien his underwear on her own.

She guessed that he had gone out for lunch, so she pushed his office door open sneakily.

“What are you doing?” Damien frowned when he saw her head suddenly pop in.

“Y–You‘re here?”

“What did you plan on doing while I was out?” Damien saw how sneaky she was being.“ What‘s that in

your hand?”

Clarissa hurried over to him and put the bag on his desk.

“Your things are here. I‘m just here to deliver them.”

It was obvious that he had forgotten about Clarissa saying that she had bought him underwear.

She turned to leave, but the moment she turned around, she saw that Ray was there as well.

Oh, God! I‘m so embarrassed!‘

Damien had already pulled the box out of the bag.

He glanced at it, and then said from behind her, “This doesn‘t fit me. Exchange it.”

Clarissa glanced at Ray, and saw that he had his head lowered. He was trying his best to hide his

laughter, and didn‘t show any intention to leave.

“But you...” She looked at Damien hesitantly.

“What?” Damien looked cold.

“You...” Clarissa couldn‘t bring herself to say it.

“Don‘t you know which type to buy?” he asked.

Ray lowered his head even more, tugging at his hair. He felt so awkward, he wanted to dig himself a

hole.

“1...” This was Clarissa‘s first time finding it so hard to speak. “Each one costs more than two thousand

dollars, so two cost more than five thousand dollars. I bought them abroad, and the shipping wasn‘t

cheap either.”

“Well, I can‘t do anything about that. Buy new ones.” After that, Damien stashed the underwear into his

desk drawer.

Clarissa‘s face turned beet red.

She left, embarrassed.

Not only had she failed to successfully give him a gift, but she was also rejected. She even had to buy

him new ones!

She had no choice but to order more.

Clarissa was about to pay when she suddenly received a call from Connie.

It completely blocked the payment screen.

The moment Clarissa left, Ray said to Damien, “Damn, what was that outrageous flirting? I‘m going to

leave, I can‘t take it anymore. Who are you trying to show up by having some underwear delivered to

the company?”

“You, of course.”

Ray left.
