Chapter 753: A Major Accident Occurred

When Myles heard the nurse's words, he instantly breathed a sigh of relief. "Can you help me check if

there's someone named Bonnie registered for this surgery?"

The nurse hesitated, knowing that the hospital had its regulations.

Seeing the nurse's reluctant expression, Myles decided to be honest. "Well, you see, my girlfriend and I

had an argument, and whenever she gets angry, she comes to the hospital. So I wanted to see if she

registered here. If she didn't, I'll go to another hospital to find her. Sorry for the trouble, can you help

me?"

After hearing Myles' explanation, the nurse hesitated for a moment and then glanced at the records.

"Yes, there is someone, but her turn hasn't come yet. She should be here around eleven."

Upon hearing the nurse's words, Myles thanked her repeatedly and turned to the waiting hall to find

her.

Although he had already searched once, Myles was worried that he might have missed her earlier, so

he searched again. He scrutinized every face, even those of the men sitting with their backs turned.

Yet, after going through the whole waiting hall, he still couldn't find Bonnie.

After leaving the waiting hall, Myles called Bonnie, but the call couldn't connect. He tried two more

times, but still no luck.

Finally, Myles decided to call Yanis.

The call went through, but it rang several times before Yanis answered, "Hello?"

Myles was using a different number, so Yanis didn't recognize it was him. "Yanis, it's me."

At Bookish Cafe.

Upon hearing the voice on the other end of the phone, Yanis instinctively glanced at Bonnie, who was Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

sitting across from her, enjoying their tea. Then she replied with an acknowledging tone, "What's up?"

"Yanis, are you with Bonnie?"

"Yes."

"Where are you now? Are you at the hospital? I'm outside the department on the third floor. I want to

come and find you guys."

After hearing Myles' words, Yanis lowered her voice and responded, "We're not at the hospital. We

went out to grab something to eat."

"Yanis, I have something important to tell Bonnie. Can you give me the address?"

Yanis hesitated for a moment. "I'll send it to you."

Deep down, Yanis believed that Myles, who had loved Bonnie so much in the past, couldn't have given

up on her so easily. She still hoped that they could have a good ending.

After ending the call, Yanis sent the location to Myles.

After Yanis hung up, Bonnie looked at her and asked, "Whose call was it? Did Zane become cautious

again and check up on you? Didn't you tell him you're with me today?"

Yanis murmured vaguely, "Why are you eating so many pastries?"

Bonnie glanced at the items on the table. "Aren't you the one who doesn't eat them? It'll go to waste if I

don't eat them."

Yanis looked at him and said, "I just said that I'll eat."

Bonnie chuckled and said, "Then let's get a couple more. We'll be done once we finish these."

Yanis didn't really want to eat more, but thinking about Myles' phone call just now, she nodded, "I want

something else. I'll order it myself."

Bonnie agreed, "Sure, my treat. Eat as much as you want."

The café was quite crowded at this time, so Yanis ordered the item that seemed to take the longest to

make.

"It might take about twenty minutes because there are many people, and they need time to prepare,"

Yanis returned to her seat. "There are so many people getting check-ups, and there are only a few

doctors there. It'll probably be past eleven before they're finished. No rush."

Bonnie wasn't in a hurry either; she just worried that Yanis might suddenly change her mind. So she

wanted to resolve everything as soon as possible to avoid any chance of regret.

Time ticked away, and Yanis' order was ready, but Myles hadn't arrived yet.

Yanis glanced at the time and said, "Bonnie, wait for me here. I'll go to the restroom."

Bonnie nodded, "Okay."

Yanis got up and went to the restroom. Before entering, she glanced in Bonnie's direction to make sure

she hadn't followed. Then she dialed the phone.

However, the phone kept ringing, and nobody answered.

Yanis tried calling twice, but it was the same result.

Feeling desperate, Yanis sent a text message and then tried calling again.

This time, the call was quickly answered, and Yanis immediately asked, "When will you come..."

"Hello, I'm a traffic police officer from Manches City. Are you a friend of the phone owner?" a strange

male voice came from the other end of the line.

Yanis was taken aback. "I'm his friend. Where is he?"

"Well, the phone owner was just involved in a major accident on Southwest Avenue. They've been

urgently transported to No. 1 Hospital..."

Yanis didn't hear what the traffic police officer said after that. She stood in place for several seconds

before rushing out.

"Bonnie..."

A loud "bang" resounded as the cup in Bonnie's hand fell to the ground and shattered.

Yanis hurriedly approached him. "Bonnie, are you okay?"

Bonnie was slightly stunned. "Yanis, I... I suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable. Let's go back to the

hospital."

The words Yanis was about to say got swallowed up by Bonnie's statement. "Okay."

As they walked out, Yanis wanted to bring up the matter of Myles with Bonnie, but looking at her

expression, Yanis couldn't find the right words to say.

On the way back to the hospital, Bonnie remained unusually silent, staring at the passing buildings

outside the window.

Yanis quickly drove the car back to the hospital and parked it when she found an available spot.

After turning off the engine, Yanis was about to speak to Bonnie when she turned her face and noticed

that Bonnie's face was pale, looking as if she had just recovered from a serious illness.

"Bonnie, are you feeling unwell somewhere?" Yanis asked anxiously.

Bonnie raised her hand to her chest. "It's nothing, maybe I ate too many pastries earlier, so I feel a bit

nauseous."

Yanis got out of the car and walked around to open Bonnie's door. "Get out and get some fresh air

first."

Bonnie stepped out of the car and looked at Yanis. "Yanis, I feel like it's suddenly getting worse."

"Let's go inside and find a doctor first," Yanis said, supporting Bonnie as they walked towards the

entrance of the hospital.

After taking a few steps, Bonnie suddenly crouched down, tears uncontrollably streaming down her

face. "Yanis, I feel so terrible..."

Seeing Bonnie like this, Yanis panicked for a moment. "Bonnie, hold on a little longer. Let's go inside,

alright?"

Bonnie shook her head. "I can't move. I feel like I can't catch my breath."

"Just hang in there. I'll help you inside," Yanis said, exerting force to help Bonnie up from the ground.

Once inside the lobby, Yanis immediately informed the nurse about Bonnie's symptoms, and the nurse

promptly led Bonnie to the emergency room.
