Chapter 746: Don't Do Something You'll Regret

After Zane drove onto the main road, he dialed Myles' number again.

Myles picked up the call quickly. "How is she?"

"If you want to know, why don't you come back and see for yourself?" Zane used the same words as

Freddy.

Myles paused for a few seconds. "She wouldn't want to see me."

"So, you're not planning to come back and see her, then?"

"Zane, you don't understand. It's the kind of... "

Myles wanted to say something, but he stopped halfway and swallowed his words. "It's fine. Just leave

it like this. Thanks."

Just as Myles was about to hang up, Zane called out, "Myles."

"What?"

"Let's just say... don't do something you'll regret."

After saying that, Zane didn't say anything more and hung up the phone.

Actually, Zane had intended to tell Myles about Bonnie's pregnancy, but since Freddy hadn't mentioned

it earlier and Bonnie might not want Myles to know, Zane naturally didn't want to meddle in this matter

and inform Myles.

Besides, when it comes to matters of the heart, it's best for the parties involved to handle them

personally, as bystanders can't provide much clarity.

Instead of going back to the hospital, Zane drove to the police station.

Albi was still dealing with the follow-up matters at the police station.

When Zane arrived, Albi greeted him immediately. "Mr. Lawrence."

"How are things going?"

"That driver refused to say anything. No matter how the police questioned him, he insisted that it was

brake failure."

Albi paused for a moment. "The police have examined the brakes, and they did malfunction. However,

it was intentionally caused, and the police are still investigating the matter." This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"Have someone investigate his background."

"I've already done that. It seems to be related to Ahmed's family. They're probably the reason behind

it."

Upon hearing Albi's words, Zane furrowed his brow slightly. "Ahmed's family is still causing trouble?"

Albi nodded.

Zane pondered for a few seconds and said in a deep voice, "Gather the evidence and hand it over to

Lawyer Lane. If Ahmed's family doesn't want to back down, then we'll accompany them to the end."

Albi acknowledged, "Alright, I'll collect the evidence and give it to Lawyer Lane."

Zane nodded. "I'll go meet the driver."

Albi led Zane to meet the driver.

The driver was injured and sat in a chair, expressionless.

When Zane entered, the driver glanced at him but immediately lowered his head, showing no other

reaction.

"How much did Ahmed's family pay you?"

The driver didn't speak or acknowledge Zane.

"Don't you have other family members? Aren't you worried that they might get into trouble?"

"Mr. Lawrence," the police officer beside them reminded.

Zane exchanged a glance with the officer before turning his gaze back to the driver in the chair. "It's

alright if you don't want to say anything. We'll investigate it thoroughly."

There were things that shouldn't be discussed here, so Zane didn't say anything further.

In fact, when Zane spoke his first sentence, the driver did react, but he remained calm. Compared to

Zane, he was more afraid of Ahmed's family. His family members were all tied to Ahmed's family, so he

couldn't say or admit anything. His wife was about to give birth, and his eldest daughter was only two

years old. He had to firmly deny any connection between these incidents and Ahmed's family to ensure

the safety of his family.

Since Zane didn't get any answers from the driver, he could only leave the police station and wait for

Albi and the police to gather evidence before making further plans.

"Mr. Lawrence, are you going back to the hospital?" After they walked out of the police station, Albi

asked Zane softly.

Zane nodded. "You go back to the company. Let me know if there are any updates."

Albi nodded and watched as Zane got into the car and drove away before turning around and leaving

himself.

After leaving the police station, Zane drove back to the hospital.

When Zane entered the hospital room, neither Bonnie nor Yanis were there.

Zane turned around and walked to the nurse's station to inquire, and he learned that Yanis and Bonnie

went for a check-up.

Instead of going to find them, Zane decided to wait in the hospital room.

Meanwhile, Bonnie and Yanis were waiting outside after their check-up, waiting for the test results.

"Bonnie," a nurse came out and handed the report to Bonnie. "Take it to the doctor and have them

have a look. If you don't understand anything, you can ask the doctor."

Bonnie took the report, thanked the nurse, and went with Yanis to find the doctor.

It was the same doctor Yanis had spoken to earlier.

When Yanis entered, the doctor asked, "Finished with the check-up?"

Yanis nodded. "Just finished."

The doctor glanced at the report and said, "Currently, there doesn't seem to be anything significant.

Let's wait for two weeks and come back for a follow-up. I also consulted the anesthesiologist, and the

anesthesia used won't have any impact. You can continue the pregnancy."

After hearing the doctor's words, a wave of relief washed over Yanis.

As they walked out of the consultation room, Yanis looked at Bonnie and said, "It's still early. You can

still consider whether to keep it or... not keep it."

Bonnie didn't finish her sentence, but she held Yanis's arm and walked slowly ahead.

When they reached the door of the hospital room, Bonnie stopped and looked at Yanis. "Yanis, I've

thought about it. Let's not keep it."

Upon hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis's expression changed.

Yanis looked at Bonnie's expression and couldn't bring herself to say the words of persuasion.

After a moment, Yanis nodded. "Alright, if you've made up your mind."

Bonnie pushed open the door to the hospital room, and when she saw Zane sitting inside, she paused

slightly. "You... What are you doing here?"

Yanis glanced inside upon hearing Bonnie's words. "Zane?"

Zane stood up and said, "What were you doing? Your leg is injured. You shouldn't keep running

around."

Bonnie gave Zane a disdainful look. "You can take her back now."

Zane glanced at her. "Your injury healed so quickly?"

"Of course. I'm me. Injuries heal on their own," Bonnie said as she walked over and sat down on the

bed. "I can be discharged now."

Zane didn't respond to her remark. Instead, he approached Yanis and helped her sit on a nearby chair.

"Is your leg still hurting?"

Yanis shook her head. "It doesn't hurt anymore."

After acknowledging her response, Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "Did you take Uncle Cooke back?"

Zane nodded and was about to speak when the door to the hospital room was knocked, and Linda,

Wendy, and Stanley entered together.

"Boss, Yanis, are you both okay?" Linda rushed to their side immediately.

"Do we look like we have a problem?" Bonnie looked at Linda. "Why did you come without bringing me

something delicious to eat?"

Linda looked at Bonnie. "Boss, what do you want to eat? I'll go buy it for you right now!"
