Daciana was forced to look up on hearing what Dolphus said, a man looking for her? Why? Does that mean someone was really calling out to her like Okie said yesterday? But who could it be?

“A male? Who is he?” Alpha Connor asked balling his hand in a fist, he hates the fact that someone just like him came all the way here to see his mate. Does he have a death wish? Who is he?

“He wouldn’t say Alpha king” Dolphus replied. Without waiting for him to say anything else, Alpha Connor stormed out of the room with both Daciana and Dolphus following him closely.

“Where is he?” He asked.

“At the tower’s gate, we didn’t let him in. In case he will cause any trouble” Dolphus quickly explained why.

The trio matched towards the gate feeling the tension in the air, Alpha Connor’s mood changed completely from happiness to anger. Whoever he is that is not afraid of coming here to seek his mate must have guts but when he reached the gate, he was surprised to see a middle-aged man standing by the gate.

Alpha Connor paused on his track but Daciana who was with a frown due to confusion walked up to him. He looks sophisticated or probably a master.

“We are sorry Luna but he wouldn’t leave until he sees you” one of the guards said, unaware that both the Alpha king and his assistant were just a few distance away from them.

The man on sighting Daciana took some steps back as he stare at her face, shocked and scared. He gulped down with each step she took towards him. A tear slipped from Mr Karl’s face as he sets his eyes on his daughter after seventeen years of being away from her.

She has grown into a beautiful young lady, she has grown up so well all by herself. Before coming here, he went to their former house only to discover that they moved and her Mum died when she was thirteen. Even after leaving the pack for seventeen years, he still knows what it means to be the Alpha king’s slave. His daughter must’ve gone through a lot, what has he done? Will she ever forgive him? But then again, is the Alpha king her mate? Why was she being referred to as Luna a while ago? Whatever the reason might be, he is determined to take her away from here once he earn her forgiveness.

“It’s okay” Daciana replied as she stood a few steps from him, she came this close because she knew that the Alpha king was watching, he wouldn’t let anything happen to her if this person decides to try any funny business with her. She trust him that much.

Mr Karl froze, her voice, it sounded just like her mother. For a moment, her mother’s face flashed on hers and he shook his head to stop the stupid hallucination. He did the first thing that came to his mind which was to hug her as he cry profusely on her shoulder.

How much he missed this, he missed hugging her this close. She looks so beautiful in her human form that it made him wonder how beautiful her wolf has become.

Alpha Connor stepped forward to stop him from being smitten with his mate but Dolphus held him back.

“He’s not hurting her Alpha king, let’s watch to know why he is here first” Dolphus said and Alpha Connor wouldn’t stop clenching his jaw in anger.

Daciana’s eyes widened in surprise, who is this man? What is he? Why is he hugging her and crying?

She struggled out of his grip and took a step back from him. She doesn’t want him to probably jump on her later on.

“Who are you?” She asked skeptically, she is very certain she has never seen him before. Even so, why is he here?

Those words shattered his heart into pieces, he was afraid she might not recognize him and she really doesn’t. Those words hurt him, it torn him into pieces that he could feel the pang in his chest. He is the one to be blamed.

After hearing her ask him the question he dreaded the most, he looked down at the floor without saying anything. Who is he? How is he going to introduce himself to her without sounding like a crazy lunatic?

He gulped down the lump that suddenly formed in his throat and cleared his throat.

“Do you not know me Ciana?” He asked hoping that she would remember him with that.

Daciana looked at him, without saying anything. She began stepping back away from him, the only person that calls her that was her father, no one else. Without having to think about it, the thought of him being her father niggled at her.

She laughed humorously, her laughter were like sharp knives stabbing the man in front of her because of the sadness behind it.

“It’s funny how you appeared after disappearing from my life for seventeen years, why are you here? To see how I am doing? I have been living without you, living very fine after you abandoned my mother and I. Do you think I will be dead too? Did you come back to confirm that?” Daciana asked laughing bitterly as tears stream down her face.

This man right here is no doubt, her father. The one that she longed to meet again for years, how funny she is seeing him now that she decided to forget about him and live happily.

Is she ever always happy? Whenever she wants to be happy, something disorienting happens in her life. Sometimes, she thinks that she is just unlucky when it comes to finding happiness.

Why?

“I am sorry, I have wronged you so much that I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I failed you and your mother and I know that I can’t make up for it but I am sincerely sorry. I have no reason to have left without you two” he said, trying to touch her but she shifted away from him.

“Don’t touch me” those words were enough for Alpha Connor to intervene, he might have just found out that he is the father of his mate but he wouldn’t like it if anyone makes her sad or cause her pain. He wouldn’t be happy seeing her unhappy.

He knows that very well within himself, he can’t watch her get hurt. Especially right in front of him.

“Do not come any closer” he threatened standing in between them and Daciana hugged him from behind as her sobs got louder.

“Please, I am sorry. I know you won’t understand and my reason for leaving was tangible and meaningless but can you please listen to me? I promise to make it up to you, do not resent me. It will hurt so much if you do” he pleaded ignoring the fact that Alpha Connor was standing in his way.

Amidst the tears Daciana started laughing again.

“It will hurt you? Do you know how lonely and hurt I felt when you left? My mother died because of you, I wouldn’t have been taken into slavery if you were here. I struggled between being a slave and being a better person, each time, having the thoughts of you occupying my mind. I waited everyday for your return but you never came until now that I do not need you anymore? Please tell him to leave my king” she pleaded desperately.

Alpha Connor turned and pulled her into a hug, the emotional torture she is going through right now is not good for her and their baby. Why did her father have to show up at the wrong time?

“Please leave, you are stressing her out. Haven’t you hurt her enough?” Alpha Connor asked, that’s the softest tone he has ever used on strangers. He is still his mate’s father after all and also an ultima wolf that deserves to be respected despite the situation on ground.

Alpha Connor glanced at the pained expression on the man’s face, even with the different scenario, he could relate to him. He had that expression on his face when he lost his family, being shoved away by the person you love feels like you have lost them completely. Although Daciana is the one hurting the most.

After staring at him for a while, Alpha Connor thought that the man look somewhat familiar. He tried to recall when and where he had met him in the past and gasped when he remembered who he is. He was her adopted mother’s right hand man. How can he forget this face when he was the one that thought him the things he knew during his childhood. He wasn’t that young so he could remember.

“Master Karl” he called, surprised himself that he met him again as his mate’s father.

He taught him how to draw and paint, he taught him how to read fluently, he also taught him the basics of becoming an Alpha. If he can still remember the death of his family, everything else is fresh in his memory.

He could remember the day he watch him paint the tree at the backyard in his tower very clearly.

It got more awkward and complicated at the fact that he knew this man who happens to be Daciana’s father, the man who abandoned her for some unknown reasons. Daciana had to break away from the hug.

“You remembered” Mr Karl said, he smiled bitterly. Fate has its way of dealing with them, he can’t believe that his daughter ended up as a slave to him. He could have pulled him into a hug if not for the situation they found themselves.

“I think you should leave now and perhaps, come back later. My Queen is not doing well as you can see, please understand with me and leave or you can come in, I will give you a room to stay” Alpha Connor offered but Mr Karl shook his head and stepped away from the couple.

From the look of things, his daughter isn’t a slave but the Luna. He felt relieved knowing that but what he didn’t know was the kind of hardship she went through before being accepted.

He waved his hand in disapproval and stared at his daughter who didn’t bother looking at him but he could see the dried tears on her face. He had no idea that he will end up hurting his daughter this much. Back then, he didn’t think too much into the fact that he left but when he did, it was too late to give up everything. He knew it won’t be easy to earn her forgiveness just like that, he is not giving up either.

Alpha Connor bowed slightly to him and scoop her from the floor into his arm, taking her back inside the tower and into his room.
