Harvey York's Rise to Power

Chapter 124

Chapter 124

"Think of something? What can you even do? Propose to someone else? Who, the CEO? The problem is, the CEO's a man!"

Someone from the crowd exclaimed.

Following this, a few of them began throwing criticisms at Zack once more.

'According to the original plan, everything would be fine if Mandy Zimmer was the one who got the contract, even if it meant everyone would receive less money. But this troublemaker had to ruin the plan and stir up chaos, further escalating their chances of going bankrupt. Were it not for Senior Zimmer, Zack would have surely been shred to bones and pieces right there and then.'

"Yeah! If only we followed Mandy's plan!"

"Boasting on and on about how great you are! See what's happening now? You're trash!"

"Zack Zimmer, don't tell me you're actually one of the spies from the other families?"

Zack expressed his dismay, "My dear uncles, all of you have been supporting me from the start. What' s more, I'm also one of the victims here! Please don' t worry, I'll work out this problem soon!"

"And how would you do that?"RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

"With that useless pretty face of yours?!"

No one was remotely convinced. Instead they grew more and more agitated, to the point that their sleeves were rolled up their fists sprang out.

Right at that very moment, someone made an anxious exclamation. "Senior Zimmer, something's up! Yohann from the Stone family is here, along with all our other business partners!"

A number of distinguished-looking men arrived, all carrying the suave dignity common to bosses and businessmen wielding power and authority.

The one in lead was no other than Yohann Stone, the head of the Stone family.

"Zimmer, my dear man. It seems that the contract we made last night has to be terminated..." Yohann Stone walked over and began nonchalantly.

Senior Zimmer's face darkened in an instant. He replied, "This contract was what you begged from me last night, Stone. Why the sudden change of decision?"

At that point Zachariah Brooke strolled over,

sneering, "We're all businessmen here, Zimmer. We 're just being frank with you. Our contract from last night can now be discontinued as well."

"What's with that confused look of yours? Our partnership was clearly due to your relationship with York Enterprise. And now? We've already received the news this noon. Your grandson is really something else. He doesn't even know how to chase a girl properly! It seems like we won't be making any decent money if you and I cooperate in the business industry..."

He paused for a second before continuing. "What's more, no banks would loan money to your company without the investment from York Enterprise. With that said, Zimmer, your status in the business industry is finished!"

"Your only choice here is to sell off that land of yours. Other than that, let's not even think of any sort of cooperation anymore!"

"He's right! We just wanted to use you as a stepping stone to acquire connections with the Yorks. Turns out, the relationship between your company and theirs was just a show!" Another senior from another family shouted in dissatisfaction. "We're being kind enough for not suing you!"

These people were crafty old foxes of the business world who knew when to propose a collaboration and when to end it. They would always be among the first to arrive at the party.

To top it off, with so many guests arriving together as one whole group, their motive was clear - which was to abstain from paying the remedies for retraction of contracts. With Zimmer's reputation down the drain, the family wouldn't have the guts to retaliate against them.

"Yes, end the contract!"

"Pay us back the deposit!"

The heads of the family who visited last night protested in unison.

Looking at the current situation, Senior Zimmer trembled and forced himself to smile. "Everyone, please allow me to explain. It's only a small fight between a young couple. Our partnership with York Enterprise won't end simply because of such a trivial matter, so please reconsider your decisions..." Zachariah Broke cut him off. "Zimmer, don't try to put up an act now. We're not idiots. Seeing how we were former business partners, we won't be asking you for any remedies for the breach of contract. Just pay us back our deposits!"

"Yes, and ours too!"

"We're not going to wait until you turn bankrupt before we ask you for the money!" "That's right! If you don't have the money, compensate us with that land of yours!"

Yohann Stone and other heads of families joined the protest as well, any and all forms of courtesy disregarded.

With this, the Zimmers were at loose ends. It would be over for them if they had to pay back all of these families the deposit!
