Chapter 219
The taping of the show came to a sudden and unexpected end. In no time, the entire school was lit up.
Soon after, the crew members, loaded with all sorts of props and equipment, walked into the guest's dorm rooms, politely saying to everyone, "Thanks for your hard work."
Chatter ensued in response.
Phyllis pulled off her earpiece and made a beeline for Jarvis and the others, complaining right off the bat, "I'm so frustrated. I couldn't speak at all and I was practically mute!"
Just then, Jaqueline also came over and said with a sob in her voice, "Even though I was playing a ghost, the other people who were playing ghosts without their makeup off were really scary! I wanted to scream but couldn't. I was terrified!"
Simon responded with a smile, "But it's a new experience, isn't it?"
Jaqueline had a crush on Simon. When she saw him smiling at her, she blushed and said, "Yeah, I guess."
At this point, Jarvis said, "This place is a mess, and the crew needs to clean up. Let's head out. Where's Ms. Lopez? Where did she run off to?" Phyllis looked around and didn't see Eileen, neither did she see several of the crew members who were playing ghosts.
Jaqueline said, "I think she beat us to it."
When they stepped out of the dorm, they saw Eileen standing outside. She was on a video call with the assistant director on the show's tablet, "They were supposed to get paid extra for these scenes. Why aren't you paying them! Also, according to industry regulations, actors playing ghosts should get a bonus. You need to make up for that since they deserve it!"
Phyllis overheard and was touched. She told the others, "Even though Eileen can be a bit rough around the edges and somewhat violent, she has a strong sense of justice. She was the one who saved me from Kenley. I will always adore her!"
Jaqueline mumbled, "She's alright."
Phyllis quickly added, "Seriously, she's a really good person, super!"
Just as Phyllis finished saying this, she heard Eileen say to the assistant director, "Phyllis and Jaqueline, they both played ghosts, so they should get a bonus too! But they're not here now, you can send their bonuses to me and I can give it to them later. We live in the same hotel. It'll be convenient. Just send it to me now, and I'll give you my bank account number."
Phyllis and Jaqueline both fell silent.
Jaqueline turned to Phyllis and asked with a meaningful look, "Is she still good? Do you still adore her forever?"
Phyllis was silent.
A crew member came over and said, "The car is waiting downstairs, and the driver will take you guys back to the hotel to rest."
Eileen turned around and saw that the other guests had come out. She quickly stuffed her phone back into her pocket, pretending she didn't just pocket Phyllis and Jaqueline's bonuses!
On the way back, Hedy was not in the car. The crew said she had left earlier, and everyone didn't pay much attention to it. However, when they got back to the hotel, they saw Hedy at the elevator entrance. She was on the phone, and because of the distance, the others couldn't hear what she was saying. But Eileen had sharp ears, so she heard the conversation clearly.
In the phone, Hedy was saying to the other party, "Hubery, you're just like my father! You don't consider my feelings! I've told you, I didn't want to participate in this show. You knew Eileen was here too and why did you still make me come. What exactly do you want me to monitor?"
Just as she was saying this, Hedy suddenly noticed in the reflection of the elevator door that someone was coming from behind. She immediately lowered her voice and whispered into the phone, "I'll call you back later." With that, she hung up the phone.
Just then, the elevator doors opened, and Hedy quickly stepped in.
Phyllis hurriedly ran a few steps and called out, "Wait!"
Hedy glanced at Eileen in the crowd, pressed the close door button in a hurry. Phyllis watched the elevator doors close and stood at the entrance, stunned, "Is she out of her mind?"
Jarvis re-pressed the button and said casually, "Never mind."
In a while, another elevator came down. The five of them got in.
Standing in the elevator, Eileen thought back to what Hedy had just said and asked, "What's the date today?"
Phyllis did a quick calculation and said, "It's past midnight, so it's April 9th."
Eileen paused.
Simon also suddenly stopped, he exclaimed, "It's April 9th today?"
Jarvis looked at Simon, "What's wrong?"
Simon didn't say anything. He just looked at his aunt. April 9th was the birthday of his aunt in the Howard family. Eileen didn't notice Simon's gaze. She just realized that today was her 20th birthday.
20 years old... Monitoring...
She pondered the relationship between the two, and suddenly, Eileen had a realization. Could it be that in her previous life, the incident where she was kidnapped upon leaving a law office on her 20th birthday was orchestrated by Ableson and his gang?
If that was true, Ableson, he was an absolute scoundrel!
The elevator arrived at their floor and they all got out. Before entering his room, Simon made a point to turn around and take another look at his aunt. Only after seeing his aunt enter her room did he pursed his lips and entered his own room.
The night passed and it was 10 a.m. the next morning.
When Jarvis came out of his room ready to go downstairs for breakfast, the moment he opened the door he saw Simon standing in front of Eileen's room practicing his lines, "Ms. Lopez, are you free today? I wanted to ask if you'd like to hang out. Ms. Lopez, I know a really good restaurant. Ms. Lopez, do you like watching movies? I know a really good one."
A restless young man paced back and forth in front of a girl's room, nervously rehearsing his words over and over, yet he couldn't muster up the courage to knock.
Jarvis, leaning against his own door, finally chimed in lazily, "Give it a rest, dude. She's gone."
Simon turned his head abruptly, surprised atJarvis' sudden appearance, "Mr. Dave, you scared the heck out of me!"
Jarvis chuckled lightly, "Ms. Lopez caught the morning flight. She should be in the Capital by now."
Simon's face fell, "She left already."
They had finished their show early, and he thought she would be free today.
"Guess that's it." Simon mumbled, preparing to leave.
Jarvis quickly spoke up, "Don't call it quits yet. I wouldn't say no to a good restaurant or a nice movie. If you don't mind, we could go together?" Simon was taken aback, staring at Jarvis in surprise.
Jarvis added, "Wait for me, I'll go change."
Simon was speechless. He wanted to celebrate his aunt's birthday, to get closer to her! What business did he have going out with Jarvis? He didn't need to get closer to him!
After 3 PM, at the Capital's Justice Law Group.
As Eileen walked in, she carefully scanned her surroundings. Noticing several suspicious figures lurking nearby, she smirked and strode forward. Eileen stayed at the Justice Law Group for over an hour. When she came out, she was holding a document. She put on her mask and sunglasses, heading for the curb to hail a cab.
Just then, a black car appeared. Four masked men jumped out, rudely pulling her into the vehicle.
Everything was exactly the same as her past life. Except in her past life, Eileen had resisted. This time, she didn't.
As soon as the car door shut, the black car sped away.
It was kidnapping after all, so the driver was extremely nervous and sped up. After a while, the car slowed to a normal pace.
In the passenger seat, Eileen was playing with one of the kidnapper's guns. She pointed it at the trembling driver's head, "You know you're breaking traffic laws driving like that, right?"
The driver was sweating bullets, glancing back at his companions in the rearview mirror, His three partners were bloody and injured, piled up like rotting meat, unconscious.
The driver felt like he was in a nightmare.
From the moment they kidnapped this girl, to the moment she beat his three partners to a pulp, it all happened in less than five minutes!
The driver was scared shitless, quickly apologizing, "I'm sorry, we messed up. Please, forgive us."
Eileen pressed the gun against the driver's forehead, and said icily, "Quit your yapping and drive."
The driver asked nervously, "Where do you want to go?"
The stunning girl chuckled, and casually said, "Take me where you were planning to."
A few hours later, the car pulled up in front of a dilapidated old factory. It was now dark. The air was filled with the pungent smell of rust. Eileen stepped out of the car. Her slender fingers were twirling the gun. She was humming a tune, and her sharp eyes were scanning the surroundings. This was where she had been kidnapped in her previous life and where she first met NightKing.
Eileen headed towards the abandoned factory. The driver got out of the car, glancing at his unconscious companions in the back seat. He clenched his teeth, knowing he couldn't just sit around. If he didn't fight back, this girl might call the police, and they'd all be done for!
They all had criminal records. If they got caught, they'd spend the rest of their lives in prison!NôvelDrama.Org content.
The driver darkly watched Eileen's retreating figure. As he got closer, he suddenly pulled out a knife and lunged at her. A loud scream echoed a second later.
Eileen sidestepped, grabbing the driver's wrist. She didn't even spare him a glance, still looking around. Only when she'd broken both his wrists and heard his pained screams did she lower her gaze, taking the knife from his hand.
With a swift move, she stabbed the driver's shoulder. The driver's screams were filled with despair. Eileen laughed lightly. She pushed him away, raising an eyebrow, "Are you ready to behave now?"
