He hugged her back, and Rhoda smiled as he felt Brandon hug her in return. He had fallen for her lies, she thought with a devilish smirk on her face.

Just then the door burst open revealing Liam.

“Brandon” Liam called and they pulled away from the hug.

“Sorry to interrupt, I wanted to talk to you about something,” Liam said as his eyes came in contact with Rhoda.

“Rhoda, I have work to do. You should go home and rest, I’ll call you when I’m done with work” Brandon said and Rhoda nodded and wiped her crocodile tears.

“We should have dinner together later. You can come over to my place for dinner” Rhoda said and Brandon nodded in response.

Rhoda smiled at him before walking out of his office. She smiled triumphantly, very soon she was gonna get Brandon to do what she wants and get rid of Hannah.

But on second thought, she wonders how Hannah tends to have luck with rich men. She wondered what was special about her. When the hell did both Brandon and Hannah get married, she thought silently.

She decided to find her office before leaving. She needs to put her in her place.

Immediately after Rhoda left, Brandon sighed softly and sat on the couch in his office.

“You didn’t tell me she got pregnant from the rape and lost the pregnancy too,” Brandon said to Liam and Liam stared at him confused.

He then knew Rhoda must have lied about it, that bitch, she’s gonna get them caught, she doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into, Liam thought.

“She didn’t tell me about it,” Liam said and Brandon inhaled deeply.

“She’s been through a lot Liam, and it’s all my fault,” Brandon said, blaming himself for what had happened.

“No, it’s not your fault. I will make sure she’s fine and get whatever she needs, you don’t have to worry about her” Liam said and Brandon nodded in response.

“You should go shopping for her today, just make sure she gets everything she wants,” Brandon said and Liam nodded in response.

“You have a meeting with Mr. Brian tonight at a five-star hotel,” Liam said and Brandon nodded.

“What about my grandma? any news on what she’s been up to?” Brandon asked. He had asked Liam to keep an eye on his grandma and tell her who she sees at all times, he needed to be one step ahead of her because he knew she was planning something.

“There’s nothing for now, I think she knows someone is watching her and she’s trying to be careful, I let you know if I find anything suspicious,” Liam said and with that, he walked out of his office.

Meanwhile, Rhoda stood outside the elevator waiting for it to open, so she could go look for Hannah’s office.

Just then the elevator opened revealing Hannah’s PA. Rhoda stared at the face and noticed it looked familiar. She was the lady who had run to Hannah today And called her Mrs. Colby.

“Please, excuse me, where’s Hannah’s Office?” Rhoda asked and she stared at her confused.

Rhoda wondered why she was giving her a confused glare, or isn’t that Hannah’s name?

“I mean your boss,” Rhoda said and rolled her eyes.

“Oh, Mrs. Colby. She’s in her office. You can come with me and see her, I’m on my way there” Hannah’s PA said.

Rhoda wanted to go with her but then she quickly changed her mind. She needed to go prepare dinner for both him and Brandon since he would be coming over to his place for the night. She needed to make sure everything was set.

She would visit Hannah next time, she thought.

“There’s no need for that…. I just need something else from you, a little help and cooperation from you” Rhoda said and brought out a bundle of money from her bag and gave it to Hannah’s PA.

“What’s this for ma’am?” She asked with a confused expression on her face.

“I need you to keep an eye on Hannah, I mean your Boss, and tell me about anything she does and wherever she goes. I’ll triple the money if you can do it” Rhoda said and Hannah’s PA, who saw how huge the money was, couldn’t say no.

She had wanted to reject the offer but she just couldn’t, this money was a lot of money and would go a long way for her. Right now she had no option but to take it, she thought.

“Okay ma,” she said and they quickly exchanged contacts, and they both walked their separate ways.

Rhoda entered the elevator that was going to the last floor. When she got to the last floor, she walked out of the elevator. Just as she was about to walk out of the company, she bumped into a young lady.

“Hey, watch where you are going to,” Rhoda said rudely, and the lady she had bumped into who turned out to be Jessica rolled her eyes.

“You should be the one watching where you are going too because you bumped into me,” Jessica said and scoffed then walked past Rhoda who frowned at her.

“Everyone is just so rude here, urghhh!” Rhoda said irritatedly, before walking out of the company to her car. She hopped into her car and zoomed off at once.

Meanwhile, Jessica on the other hand walked into Brandon’s office with a frown on her face.

Brandon raised his head when he heard his door open and to his surprise it was Jessica.

“What do you want Jessica? Did grandma send you?” Brandon said and Jessica rolled her eyes and sat on the couch.

“No, Brandon, you shouldn’t be doing this to me. I’m your sister for God’s sake and yet, you treat me like a stranger…. It’s not fair” Jessica said and pouted.

Brandon stared at her and looked away, no matter how hard he tries to act like he didn’t have a soft spot for Jessica, the truth is he does.

Jessica is his sister, his blood.

“You should have known that I’m your brother before leaving years ago,” Brandon said and Jessica sighed

“I had no option, I had to leave…. when mom and dad separated, it was hard for me, I had to go with grandma….”

“Even when you knew she was the one who destroyed this family, ” Brandon said, cutting off Jessica’s speech. Memories of everything came rushing back into Brandon’s head, this made him so sad and angry at the same time.

“Brandon…….”

“Get out Jessica…” Brandon yelled and Jessica flinched. She stood up at once and walked out of the office.

He remembered how his mom had gone missing, his dad left with his new wife, and his grandma was leaving too, Jessica left too even when he begged her to stay…. Everyone fucking left when he needed them the most and now they just walk back into his life as if nothing happened, he thought angrily.

He quickly shook off the thoughts, he didn’t want anything to ruin his mood, all he needed to do was find his mom, he needed to know what had happened to her, he knew his mom loved him so much and wouldn’t leave just like that.

But on second thought, he began to think if his mom was still alive or maybe dead and buried six feet underground.
