Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 901

Sebastian never thought Rosalie would have suspicions about this.

"Rose, I hadn't planned to record anything at first. It's just that what he said became more and more outrageous, so I secretly pressed the recording button on my phone in my pocket and happened to record that sentence. He actually said much worse things that I didn't record."

Sebastian held her shoulders, his face sincere.

"You have to believe me, I didn't mean to frame him. If I wanted to harm him, I would have recorded our entire conversation in advance. Rose, please trust me. I swear I'm not lying to you."

Rosalie gently pushed him away, her voice hoarse. "Alright, I believe you."

Even if she didn't believe Sebastian, what could she do? Even if Sebastian had truly taken Theodore's words out of context, Theodore had said that. Forget about it. She was too tired.

Though Rosalie was physically and mentally exhausted, she still insisted on attending her classes. She didn't want to give up on this opportunity. After all, life went on.

During class today, her mind wandered many times.

Finally, the day's lessons ended, and Sebastian drove over to pick her up.

"Rose, how was class today?"

"It was fine," Rosalie replied, "but I couldn't focus very well, maybe because I've been feeling down for the last few days."

"Rose, would you like to take more time off? I can arrange for your classes to be postponed."

"It's fine," Rosalie said. "I want to continue. I don't want to waste any more time."

No matter how much rest she got, her heart would still feel heavy. It wouldn't help.

Seeing her insist, Sebastian didn't press further. After bringing Rosalie home, Sebastian made dinner for her.

Rosalie ate absentmindedly, barely taking a few bites.

"Seb, I'm a bit tired. I'd like to go to bed early. Ask the nanny to take care of the baby. I may not get up tonight." Sebastian nodded. "Alright, you go rest. I'll take care of the baby. You don't need to worry."

Rosalie murmured an acknowledgment and then returned to her room.

Sebastian glanced at the clock. It wasn't even 7 PM yet.

Rosalie had been like this these past few days-distracted and detached.

Sebastian understood she needed some space, so he didn't disturb her.

He stayed in the nursery, keeping the baby company.

"Little one, your mother is in a bad mood. Daddy feels for her, but I dare not bother her.

"It's all Theodore's fault. He's the

easily. He bullied your mother."

Suddenly, Sebastian heard a car engine starting outside.

He thought it must be a servant leaving, but when he walked to the window with the baby in his arms, he noticed the car wasn't one the servants usually used.

A sense of unease surged within him. He hurried to Rosalie's room, only to find it empty.

Sebastian panicked a little and quickly took out his phone to call Rosalie. She answered almost immediately. "Hello, Rosalie, where are you driving to?"

Rosalie replied, "Don't worry about me. I'm just going for a drive to clear my head."

"Why didn't you tell me? I would have gone with you."

"I just want to be alone for a bit. I'll be back soon."

"Where are you planning to go?"

"Seb, please don't ask. I just need some time to myself. Don't worry about my safety. I'll be home in two hours."

"Alright," Sebastian said, "I'll call you in two hours."

Rosalie softly hummed in response. "Thank you for taking care of Steve. I appreciate it."

She hung up the phone.

Sebastian held Steve, feeling uneasy.

"Little one, where is your mother going? I'm worried about her. In two hours, I'll go find her."

He lowered his head and gently kissed Steve's forehead before sitting on Rosalie's bed, his expression grave.
