Chapter 889
What made things worse was that when Rosalie heard what he said, she actually felt a small morsel of joy knowing that Theodore came looking for her.
Did that mean he still loved her? Did he get Aurora to come put on an act for her?
But it was all too late. That joy was overwhelmed by harsh reality. It was impossible for her and Theodore. The only thing she could do was to attack him with cruel words and dash his hopes.
"Theodore Spencer, don't hurt Seb. You don't feel good about what happened, is that it? Yes, I chose Seb before. You can hate me or do whatever you want to me, but can you please don't hurt him? This has nothing to do with him! Seb himself was a victim. It was harrowing for him too. Blame me if you must, hit me instead if it makes you feel better, but can you please don't lay a finger on him?"
Theodore clenched his fists, his heart breaking into a million pieces. Rosalie was always defending Sebastian, sometimes to an unreasonable degree.
Theodore saw the smirk on Sebastian's face-a smug smile belonging to a victor. He was carrying a baby, looking like he was provoking Theodore to a challenge.
Theodore knew he had lost thoroughly, with nothing left to his name.
"Rosalie Young," he said hoarsely. "I was the first to enter the washroom. Sebastian only came after. Haven't you wondered why he came? Or why we ended up fighting? You always think it's my fault. Why don't you consider the possibility that he was the one who started it first?"Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
"What did he say to you?" Rosalie asked.
"Would you believe me if I told you? You always only believe him. Even with clear evidence, you always choose to forgive him. You unconditionally condone him with no bottom line whatsoever!"
"I did not!" Rosalie instinctively refuted his claim.
"You did," Theodore said emphatically.
"..."
." Rosalie was at a loss for words.
She instinctively recalled what had happened before. She
unconditionally believed Sebastian, who, in turn, took the initiative to admit that he pretended to fall to frame Theodore.
Rosalie was very shocked, wondering how Sebastian could do something like that, and she was also furious.
Yet, she eventually forgave Sebastian because he apologized sincerely and admitted his mistake. He took the initiative to confess his mistake and show remorse for it.
But was Sebastian truly wrong about that?
Sebastian's brows furrowed. He hurried toward Rosalie. "Rose, don't listen to him."
He looked up and glared at Theodore. "Theodore Spencer, you're accusing me. Do you have proof?"
"I don't," Theodore said. "The
washroom is a great place because surveillance cameras aren't around. It's not like the restaurant before, where there's footage exposing how wicked you are in trying to frame me. You probably wouldn't dare confess to Rose if it weren't for the footage. You're quite smart to confess what you did when you knew there was evidence against you!"
Sebastian's face darkened with displeasure.
"Don't try to make up malicious things about me. Rose, don't trust him. I admit what I did then was wrong, but what happened just now was Theodore's fault. He wanted to ruin our relationship."
Rosalie turned to look at Sebastian. "Tell me the truth. Why did the two of you fight? Seb, tell me the truth, please?"
Although her first instinct was to blame Theodore, it was only because of the past.
