Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 68

Chapter 68

The man in the black car was Jerome and he looked at Mikayla Indifferently.

She raised her head and her long neck made her delicate face appear even more dazzling under the lights.

Michael was looking at her with gratitude, his eyes shining. The sight of Michael Irritated

Jerome.

“There’s no need for you to act so righteous. You’re just like any other woman.

“You must be dissatisfied with your old and ugly husband at home. That’s why you set your sights on this handsome guy and wanted to get close to him!” Jim said.

Then, he suddenly let out a painful cry before he could finish his words, Michael had viciously hooked a punch at his jaw!

“Stop talking nonsense!” Michael said.

Jim fell to the ground, blood flowing from his mouth and nose as he groaned in pain.

“You’re insane! How could you hit him!” The manager panicked as he saw Jim being attacked by Michael.

“Jim is right. She must be a whore who is married to a rich old man just for his money!” the manager said. 1

Just as Mikayla was about to step forward to stop Michael from defending her, a man’s voice sounded from in front of her. “Who are you calling an old man?”

Mikayla lifted her head and saw Jerome walking toward them.

He was dressed in a refined all–black suit. His eyes shone brightly as he walked toward Mikayla, exuding charisma from head to toe.

Jerome didn’t look like someone who was sick. He appeared with his usual cold and aloof appearance. His bearing suggested that he was not someone to be trifled with.

The manager and Jim were both momentarily stunned by Jerome’s appearance. They had seen their fair share of charismatic figures in the dojo, but none could compare to the air that Jerome was emanating.

“Who… who are you?” the manager stammered.

Jerome looked at Mikayla and extended his long arm to pull her into his embrace. He said In a low voice, “I’m her husband.”

Aside from the incident at the bar with Taylor, this was the first time Jerome had declared himself as Mikayla’s husband in front of others.

Men were indeed prideful creatures. They couldn’t bear to be belittled by others.

Mikayla calmly shifted to the side and freed herself from Jerome’s embrace. Jerome’s

brows furrowed at that.

Upon hearing Jerome’s words, both the manager and Jim widened their eyes.

Such a good–looking and wealthy man is the husband of the woman in front of them?

“Her husband isn’t an old man?” the manager blurted out in shock.

“Why do you think that beautiful women must all be married to rich old men?” Mikayla

interrupted. “Can’t we earn our own money and be independent?”

“I’m so sorry! We spoke too recklessly. We were in the wrong!” The manager nervously

apologized as he realized that he had gotten on the bad side of a powerful person.

He even kicked Jim, who was still on the ground, and made him apologize.

Jim’s nose was still bleeding, but he didn’t dare to cause any more trouble. He apologized

repeatedly to Mikayla while wiping his bloody nose.

“You’re just typical thugs who bully the weak and fear the strong! I’m not the one you should apologize to!” Mikayla sneered and said.

Jim apologized to Michael and asked that he not take any offense since they were.

coworkers.

Michael sensed that Jerome’s patience was wearing thin. He asked the manager and Jim

to leave immediately.

Then he sincerely extended his hand to Jerome and said, “Hello, I’m Michael, Mikayla’s kickboxing coach. I apologize on behalf of my colleagues who offended you.”

Jerome furrowed his brows.

Entirely ignoring Michael, he said to Mikayla, “Kickboxing? Since when have you been. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

interested in that?”

Mikayla felt annoyed by Jerome’s arrogant behavior in public.
