Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 127

Chapter 127

Kylie added, “Also, make him put more effort into it. If normal courting doesn’t work, think of something more effective. I don’t want to let my money go to waste.”

Agatha’s eyes gleamed once she saw the card. “Rest assured. Jensen will do his best! He intended to come up with an act yesterday, but Louisa left suddenly. He said he’ll rack his brains

to make her his!”

Kylie didn’t respond. Instead, she emphasized. “I’ll find you if there’s anything. Don’t just come to me freely.”

Last time, both Mikayla and Jerome spotted Agatha with her. Though they were related and didn’t necessarily look suspicious, she thought it’d be better to be careful. Jensen was pursuing Louisa, and she didn’t want to get involved if anything happened.

Taking the card from her, Agatha said, “Kylie, I’m here for you since you’re here alone. No one’s looking after you. Oh, poor you!”

Pressing the heel of her hand against her head, Kylie answered, “Later, tell the nurse that I fainted. She knows what to do.”

Agatha winked. In an instant, she knew what Kylie was up to. “Sure! Of course Mr. Miller knows better than I do. I’ll go find the nurse now!” Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Mikayla was back at Dragoncrest Villa. No one was in the living room, so she went upstairs. She realized the interior was slightly different as she opened the door. Jerome’s belongings had increased in number–her chaise lounge chair had been replaced by two simple chairs and an exquisite and minimalistic coffee table.

Perplexed, she heard footsteps approaching from the walk–in closet. It was Jerome. As he stepped out of the walk–in closet with a set of casual clothes, she asked with a frown, “What happened? Who did this to my room? Where’s my chaise lounge chair?”

A hint of impatience flickered across his indifferent eyes. “Whose idea do you think it was?

“Stephen and Matilda came to Grandma this afternoon, and they told her about our plans to divorce. She called me right away just to scold me over the phone. She even warned me that if I signed the divorce agreement again and slept in a separate room, I’d be disowned!”

Mikayla was truly baffled and speechless. She thought Stephen and Matilda would cease their actions after Eduard told them off, but little did she expect them to go to Wanda instead. That meant Wanda would’ve found out about her breaking her promise to get Jerome to sign the divorce papers again.

Mikayla had ill luck. She managed to stir chaos even before she actually proceeded with her

divorce.

Mikayla, what are you playing at?” Jerome snapped. “You’ve been rambling about our divorce, but

how can you let them find out about the divorce agreement?”

Once again reminded of what happened this morning, Mikayla felt utterly frustrated and helpless.”

A secretary accidentally bumped into me, so I…”

Her words trailed off when she noticed the disdain on Jerome’s face. He thought she was lying, and she didn’t want to file a divorce. She instantly lost the urge to defend herself.

“Let’s just carry on with the divorce proceedings after Grandma’s birthday. I won’t bother you about this before her birthday. I’ll also tell Uncle Stephen and Aunt Matilda to stop bothering you.”

It was just ten days, after all. Everything would pass by in a blur, so Mikayla decided to lay low for

now.

Jerome scoffed, but he didn’t say whether he believed her. Just as he was about to step into the bathroom, his phone on the coffee table rang.

Mikayla chanced a glance at it, realizing that it was a local number. He took his phone promptly and answered the call. An anxious voice echoed over the phone.
