As Alpha Kilian sped down the road, his keen eyes scanned the surroundings, his instincts heightened. The car had come to a halt, and a sinking feeling settled in his chest. Nelly must have known something was wrong, leading her to this location. The stillness of the car signaled that something had indeed happened.
In that moment, his phone rang once more, the sound piercing through the tense air. Seeing that it was a voice call from Donna on WhatsApp, he hastily answered.
“Have you found my mommy, Mr. Handsome?” Donna’s voice trembled on the other end, laced with desperation.
“I’m on my way and will be there soon,” Alpha Kilian assured, his voice grave.
“You must save my mommy! You must save her!” Donna sobbed, her pleas resonating in his ears.
A multitude of questions swirled in Alpha Kilian’s mind, but he knew he had to focus on finding answers. The anguished cries of a scared child cut deep within him.
“Do not worry, I will find her,” Alpha Kilian promised with determination.
“Okay!”
“We will talk later, when I have more information. Try not to worry too much.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Alpha Kilian’s hand trembled slightly. His gaze fixed ahead, piercing through the darkness as he drove even faster.
Ten minutes later, he arrived at the scene. A truck with glaring headlights caught his attention from afar. As he neared, the sight of the flipped red car sent a shock through his system.
“Nelly!” He unclasped his seatbelt and dashed out of the car.
The truck driver, on the phone, shouted something at him, but his words were lost. Alpha Kilian sprinted towards Nelly as the shattered glass reflected the moonlight, illuminating her injured face.
“How are you, Nelly? Wake up!” he shouted, desperation evident in his voice. But Nelly remained unresponsive.
Turning his attention to the car door, he tried to open it, his hands bleeding from the shards of glass. After several failed attempts, he felt a flicker of hope as Nelly’s eyelids twitched. Their eyes met, a silent exchange filled with fear and determination.
“Hang in there, Nelly! I will get you out of here! You must not sleep! Do you understand? I will never forgive myself if you allow anything to happen to you!” he cried out.
Nelly’s eyelids flickered again, and she closed her eyes once more. The desperation within Alpha Kilian grew, and he pulled at the car door with an almost feral strength, fearing the worst.
In that moment, the truck driver approached, offering a tool. “Try using this.”
Alpha Kilian took the tool without hesitation, forcefully prying the car door open. Nelly, still secured by the seatbelt, had the airbag deployed.
The truck driver had a penknife, which he used to cut the seatbelt. Working together, they managed to free Nelly from the wreckage.
“Nelly! Nelly!” Alpha Kilian called out to her, his gaze locked on her.
Observing from the side, the truck driver inquired, “Are you two… acquainted?”
Before Alpha Kilian could respond, the driver continued, “I don’t mean to make excuses, but this had nothing to do with me. I honked, but the collision could have been avoided. I don’t know how this happened-”
Alpha Kilian’s ferocious, scarlet gaze silenced the man. “Call an ambulance.”
“I already have. And I’ve informed the traffic police. They will be here soon,” the truck driver replied.
Ignoring him completely, Alpha Kilian lifted Nelly and carried her to safety. “Nelly! Nelly!” he called out, willing her to wake up.
Watching from the sidelines, the truck driver couldn’t contain his excitement. “She’s awake! She’s awake!”
Alpha Kilian’s eyes snapped to Nelly, relief washing over him. “How are you feeling, Nelly?”
“It hurts,” Nelly admitted.
“Where does it hurt?” Alpha Kilian inquired, his heart aching for her.
“Everywhere.”
Alpha Kilian stared at her battered form, lost in thoughts and questions. “The ambulance will be here soon.”
In that moment, Nelly glanced at his bloodied hands, her gaze freezing momentarily.
“Hang on,” he urged.
Nelly nodded, and Alpha Kilian couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. Amidst the chaos, his sole focus was on ensuring her survival.
“Don’t sleep,” he pleaded.
“How can I sleep when you’re so noisy?”
His lips curled into a faint smile. “I still have many questions for you, so you can’t sleep.”
At the side, the truck driver decided it was the perfect time to give his account of the accident. “Let me tell you, pretty lady. This accident had nothing to do with me. I honked, but you didn’t brake-”
Alpha Kilian’s glare cut through the man’s words. “Shut up.”
“But I need to clarify-”
“You don’t need to pay anything,” Alpha Kilian snarled, shutting down any further arguments.
The truck driver obediently stepped aside, understanding the intensity of the situation. Alpha Kilian’s worried gaze never left Nelly’s form. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Soon, the sound of sirens filled the air as the ambulance arrived. Alpha Kilian boarded it, refusing to leave Nelly’s side.
During the journey to the hospital, a sudden realization struck him. He pulled out his phone and dialed Donna’s number, right in front of Nelly.
The call connected swiftly, and Donna’s voice echoed through the line. “How’s it going, Mr. Handsome?”
Nelly felt a shiver run down her spine at the sound of Donna’s voice.
Alpha Kilian glanced at Nelly lying on the gurney before responding, “I’ve found her. She’s injured, but her life is not in danger. We’re on our way to the hospital. There’s no need to worry too much.”
“Really? Mommy is okay?” Donna’s voice filled with relief.
Alpha Kilian lowered his head to look at Nelly again, only to find her already drifting into unconsciousness.
“Yes, she’s fine,” Alpha Kilian assured Donna.
“Which hospital are you going to?”
“I’ll send you the location as soon as we arrive and arrange for someone to pick you up.”
“Okay!”
“Be good, and try not to worry too much,” Alpha Kilian comforted before ending the call.
He turned his attention back to Nelly, who seemed to have slipped into a deeper sleep.
