Rex’s eyes twitched slightly and a soft part of his heart felt as if it had been gently hit by a small hammer. He suddenly sat back down and circled Wendy’s body with both hands. He deliberately lowered his voice to a whisper, as if he was a dark elf trying to seduce her.

“What’s wrong?” Rex said, “Miss me?”

Wendy almost shrunk her head into her body, but she did not admit or deny it. She put her small hand on his chest and said, “You’re too close to me.”
