Chapter 79
Chapter 79
Hearing Sage mention the word ‘us’, Yoel felt his heart skip a beat.
“This is a big decision to make, please allow me to discuss this with my father.”
Sage nodded. “Of course.”
Looking up at her, Yoel said, “Would it be too risky for both of us to be working on such a big project? I suppose that the early investment would not be a small amount.”
“You’re right. I only asked you to invest in the venture after I had taken into consideration the financial situation of the Fultons, however, if you think that it is too risky a venture with only the two of us, then you may bring another person on board.”
Yoel’s eyes lit up. “What about Jace-”
“Anyone except Jace Yuriel.” Sage knew exactly what Yoel was going to say, and she rejected his suggestion without hesitation.
Yoel asked, “But why? We are talking business, right? Whether it’s the location or economic power, Yuriel Group is our best option. Plus, Jace is interested in this project too.”
Sage looked down and replied coldly, “I don’t want to work with him.”
“You’re bringing your personal life to work.”
Yoel seized the opportunity to lecture Sage. “Jace is not the type to mix private and work matters, and I trust that you too don’t do that. Just think about it, Sage. The three of us forming a strong alliance, wouldn’t it be amazing?”
Sage frowned and was about to defend herself when Yoel continued, “This is the time for you to gain a foothold in the Norah Group. You have just returned, and I heard that your uncles had procured the land, and they had wanted to use it to build a golf course, right? When they have learned of what you have done, they would demand answers. Furthermore, they would have the support of the board of directors, and when that time comes, you would have Jace and I to back you up.”
“Do you think that I’d be taunted by them?” Sage scoffed.
Yoel replied, “Of course not. But with the Yuriel Group having your back, you’d have more cards in your deck, right? Plus, you can take the opportunity to determine who is better looking, Jace or me.”
Yoel had started to tease Sage again. Glaring at him, Sage retorted, “Why should I?” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
It was not like she had not seen Jace before.
Grinning, Yoel added, “Don’t worry about the profits. Jace and I can take 30% each, and you’d still have the highest share. You’d be our leader, and he would have to listen to you, doesn’t that already sound great? We can have Jace do all the dirty and tiring work.”
Rendered speechless, Sage looked at Yoel and asked, “Are you sure that you’re his friend?”
“Of course,” replied Yoel, “isn’t this what friends do? We’re willing to sell out our friends when it comes to girls. For men like us, girls always come first.”
Sage nodded in agreement.
The food was served dish by dish. Different types of nigiri, sashimi, chirashi, temaki, and uramaki were served. These were the classics of Japanese sushi cuisine.
Yoel had always enjoyed eating and was a notoriously picky eater. With every bite of sushi, Yoel praised the food. It came out in a continuous stream.
Sage was hungry, hence she quietly devoured her food while Yoel continued praising the food.
“Hold on a second, why does this taste so familiar?”
Pursing his lips, Yoel suddenly recalled what Sage had said. “What’s the name of the chef again?”
Sage replied, “His last name is Damian.”
“Damian?” Yoel began to tremble. “Don’t tell me that he is that famous Japanese chef, Myles Damian?”
“You’re still that picky with your food, Mr. Yoel. Just a bite and you recognized right away that it was me who had prepared your food.”
