Chapter 1251
Chapter 1251
Finnegan was worried because Esther was about to get really angry. So, he quickly asked Gerry to help Esther get ready and to keep the chat to a minimum.
"Understood. I won't say anything about your favorite person." Gerry then gently pinched Esther's cheek and smiled. "She might not have the best taste, but she's got a pretty young face. That's good. At least, you're naturally beautiful."
Esther quickly pushed Gerry's hand away.
"Ah, you're quite fiery." Gerry laughed.
Esther looked at Gerry sideways. "Isn't it normal to react that way? Why are you laughing? Have you lost your mind?"
Gerry stopped laughing.
Finnegan saw this coming and just sighed. "Alright, both of you, please stop talking. Let's get on with your work, okay?"
Gerry was easy-going. He wasn't upset even after Esther's sharp words. Instead, he found her very charming. "Sure. Since she's your date, I'll make her look stunning tonight. She'll be the most beautiful one." Gerry called a couple of people to help take Esther to the makeup room. It took two hours.
Finnegan was used to long preparations for events, so he knew it took time. But he usually asked Gerry to hurry because he didn't like waiting.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
However, today, he was more patient. He was actually hoping Gerry would take his time. He was really looking forward to seeing how beautiful Esther would look when she came out.
Another hour went by. Gerry came out and gave Finnegan a thumbs-up.
Then, Esther appeared in high heels. She looked young and pure, like something out of a fairy tale. Finnegan, who usually wasn't easily impressed, couldn't take his eyes off her. He knew he had chosen someone truly special.
"Oh, dear Finn, I know she looks gorgeous. But you don't need to stare that much."
Gerry's joke snapped Finnegan back to the moment.
"Do... Do I look pretty?" Esther asked.
Gerry hadn't let Esther see herself yet, so she wasn't sure how she looked. But Finnegan's stare gave her a hint that she might look really nice.
"You look wonderful. Trust me. Finn brought you here because he trusts my skills.' Gerry winked at her and pointed behind her. "There's a mirror over there."
Esther carefully walked to it, not used to the high heels. She gasped when she saw her reflection. Gerry had done an excellent job, highlighting her best features and concealing any flaws. He was much better than her usual makeup artist.
"Gerry, you're incredible!' Esther smiled sweetly at him.
Gerry pretended to be overwhelmed. "Oh, my. Don't smile at me like that, princess. I might drown in your smile.'
Suddenly, Finnegan stood up and stepped in front of Esther, his voice cold. "If that's how it's going to be, we should leave now.'
Gerry realized Finnegan was a bit jealous and teased, 'You're so possessive! Not letting anyone even look at her.'
"I won't pay you if you keep teasing me.'
"Finnegan, how could you say that?' Gerry was offended.
