Chapter 1246
Chapter 1246
Startled by the sudden presence, Rosalie nearly lost her balance. Turning around, she found herself face to face with the security guard, who had somehow managed to sneak up on her and was poised to pull her down from the wall
"You're quite the troublemaker, aren't you? I told you not to leave, yet here you are, climbing over the wall."
With the guard closing in, Rosalie shut her eyes, took a deep breath, and leaped. True to his word, Blake caught her securely.
"What's the matter with you two? I told you to stop, but you're still trying to leave?" The guard panted from behind the wall. "Get back here!"
Blake had no intention of obeying. He picked up their luggage, grabbed Rosalie's hand, and ran off
"You brats!" The guard's voice faded into the distance.
Now that they had left the neighborhood, the next challenge was to get a taxi to Rosalie's aunt's house. Standing by the roadside, observing the sparse traffic, Blake grew impatient. "Why don't we walk? Public transportation isn't operational during the epidemic."
"I understand, but my aunt's place is quite far. It'd take us a day to walk, and we have all this luggage," Rosalie replied, eyeing their belongings and feeling unsure.
"Then let's try flagging down a taxi."
Rosalie sighed. "I doubt that'll work. Everyone's rushing home now, and no one will stop.
"We'll never know until we try. Let's give it a shot." Blake wasted no time and stepped forward, attempting to hail a taxi.
Despite his determined efforts, none of the passing cars seemed willing to stop.
"Well, if we can't hail one, we'll have to consider other options," he conceded, noticing Rosalie deep in thought, her brows furrowed in concentration.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Seeing her expression, Blake sighed and made a decision. 'You keep an eye on the luggage. I'll be back shortly.
Rosalie looked up at him, puzzled. "Where are you off to?"
"Don't worry about it. I'll be back soon," Blake replied and hurried away.
Standing by the roadside with her luggage, Rosalie watched the time pass on her phone, growing increasingly anxious. Nowhere felt safe anymore. Where had Blake rushed off to?
Convinced that Blake was doing something risky, Rosalie abandoned the luggage and followed after him.
But before she could take more than a few steps, Blake pulled up in a flashy Maybach, leaving Rosalie stunned.
"Where did you get this car? Did you go back into the neighborhood?"
Lowering the window, Blake motioned for her to get in. "Let's talk about it in the car."
Nodding, Rosalie suddenly remembered something. "Oh no, our luggage!"
Blake sighed, his face a mix of amusement and annoyance. "Where did you leave it?"
"Right where I got into the car."
Seeing her remorseful expression, Blake reassured her, "It's okay, I'll find it."
