Chapter 267
Chapter 267
"Why do you look so flushed, Tricia? Have you caught a cold or something?" Josephine asked when she saw Patricia entering the kitchen with a crimson face.
Patricia felt her face in response. She had already felt her face burning earlier, and now that Josephine pointed it out, she felt even more mortified. "Nothing. I'm just feeling a little warm. The heater here's pretty strong."
With that, she moved to the counter. "What else is there to make, Mrs. Zimmers? I'll help you out; they're starving. You have too much to work on, and it'll be faster if we do it together."
"You can help me out with the salad." Josephine pointed to the vegetable aside.
Patricia was an expert in making salads, and so she got down to it pretty crisply.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Sylvie continued leaning against Isaac as she watched some cartoons. Isaac, on the other hand, felt nothing but adoration for the mini version of Patricia in his arms.
He couldn't understand why either, but he fell in love with Sylvie the second he laid his eyes on her. She gave him a unique sense of kinship whenever he saw her, and it felt as though they had already known each other long ago.
"Sylvie, you can give me a call whenever, alright? I live right next door."
The little girl's eyes were glued to Peppa Pig on television when she suddenly frowned after hearing Isaac's words. "But Scott and Stellan said you're bad, and they don't want me to tell you anything that's going on at home."
She couldn't understand her brothers' intentions, but anyhow, she loved Mr. Handsome, for he was the most good-looking person she had ever seen. What was more, he looked a lot like her brothers, and she felt a sense of kinship with him.
Isaac was well aware that the two boys had a problem with him. In the past, he assumed the triplets would be dealt with once he had taken care of Patricia. But now, it seemed that he had to deal with these three little munchkins first before he could say hello to his happily married life.
"Sylvie, I had indeed made a terrible mistake, but I've changed. I will love Tricia with all my heart. Will you help me? I want to win her heart over."
Sylvie's eyes widened in response. "You like Tricia now? Are you also willing to become our daddy?"
At that, Isaac quirked a brow. "Of course, you can call me daddy if you want."
Sylvie blinked her big, round eyes. Oh, how she wanted to do that! Growing up, all the kids around her had a father except for her, and it had been an underlying bother for the little girl.
With that, she glanced toward the kitchen, then at the stairs before standing on the couch to whisper in Isaac's ear, "Daddy… Daddy…"
The next second, she giggled to herself, and Isaac's heart skipped a beat as a unique but indescribable sensation surged within him, causing his gaze to deepen slightly.
"Daddy… I miss you so, so much," the little one mumbled again as she wrapped her arms around Isaac, who found her eyes misty when she spoke.
He knew she craved having a father. Thus, he put her on his lap and stroked her head. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
His heart ached badly for this little one, and because he loved Patricia, he naturally took a liking to her children as well.
Just then, the two little guys came downstairs, and Sylvie hurriedly left Isaac's lap, even moving a little further away from him.
As helpless as she felt, she still held high regard for her brothers' words.
When Scott and Stellan returned to the kitchen, Scott looked at Isaac coldly. "Mr. Arnold, I suggest you visit less frequently. My mommy still has to find herself a boyfriend, and your appearance will only hinder her."
At that, Stellan added, "You can consider this dinner as your last one with us!"
Isaac swept his gaze across the brothers and thought they were rather dashing. These two will surely be high achievers when they grow up.
"I'm currently pursuing Patricia," he declared with narrowed eyes while playing with the wolf ring on his finger.
