Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 140

Chapter 140

Anastasia was stunned for a moment and looked back at Alastor in shock. “You’re truly crazy.”

“I’m crazy? Yes, I’m crazy.” Alastor let go of Anastasia. He knew that Anastasia would not run away again.

Alastor also reckoned he was crazy.

Alastor thought he could part ways with Anastasia on good terms after spending merely four years together. Even if Anastasia did not love him, he could turn around and leave without hesitating.

However, he still could not figure out what was wrong.

Alastor wondered, “What exactly went wrong?”

He could not figure out when he did not want to lose Anastasia anymore. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

“Grandma is discharged from the hospital. She wants everyone gets together. Come back with me. Grandma will be happy to see you,” whispered Alastor.

He knew Anastasia would compromise when mentioning Andrea.

“I am only going back to visit Grandma Andrea. It has nothing to do with you…” Anastasia’s voice was hoarse.

After a long time, Anastasia spoke again. “Don’t hurt Jason.”

“I just told you what I found. If I really wanted to hurt him, he won’t be standing here!” Alastor thought Anastasia was too distrustful of him.

Anastasia only smiled sarcastically.

“I’ll wait for you in the car.” Alastor turned around. Then, he asked Anastasia to send Jason away. “Don’t let me see him again.”

Anastasia did not say anything. After Alastor got in the car, she walked over and looked down at the ground. “Jason, you can go home first.”

“You’re… leaving with him again?” Jason looked at Anastasia and sounded hurt as usual.

He could not keep up with the number of times Anastasia had left him for Alastor.

“His grandmother is discharged from the hospital. I have to go and visit her,” explained Anastasia casually.

“Anastasia… can I ask you a question?” Jason sounded like he almost choked.

[

“Go ahead.” Anastasia did not raise her head. She did not know why she felt that her head was heavy. She dared not to lift it up or look into Jason’s eyes.

“Have you been looking for me over the years? Have you ever thought about finding me even once?” Jason looked at

Anastasia.

It would be seven years soon.

Jason realized it had already been seven years.

Anastasia did not answer because she dared not look for Jace.

She was afraid she might hear news of him getting into an accident and the nightmare that would loom over her

Anastasia was afraid that Jace was dead and could never return.

She was simply deceiving herself by choosing to forget, not look for him, and not see him. She could only live in her imagination that face would always live well in a place she could not see.

“What about you? Why didn’t you come to me after coming out of the juvenile detention center?” asked Anastasia with a hoarse voice.

I… Jason wanted to explain but did not know what to say.

Anastasia looked up at Jason’s eyes. “Jason, you’re not Jace anymore. Your name is Jason now. If you get into trouble, just tell me. I’ll find a way to help you whenever I can.”

Jason looked at Anastasia and watched her turn around and get into Alastor’s car.

Every time Anastasia went away with Alastor, Jason felt his heart hurt.

He hated himself but could not change.

“Is he insane?” asked Alastor.

On the way home, Alastor was driving fast.

Due to the traffic jam, they had to stop every now and then

Meanwhile, Jason kept following them with a scooter on the frontage road.

Anastasia looked back from the rearview mirror and clenched her fingers tightly.

*Anastasia, how can he compete with me?” Alastor’s voice was low. He thought Jason was not qualified to compete with him for Anastasia in all aspects.

“He doesn’t have to compete.” Anastasia’s voice was hoarse.

She was someone Alastor did not want.

Alastor suddenly stepped on the brake and glanced at Anastasia.

He mentally remarked, “Yes, Jason doesn’t have to compete. Even if he has nothing but a chaotic private life and would do anything to achieve his goal, it’s nothing to Anastasia.”

Alastor stopped talking, and the light turned green. Stepping on the gas pedal, he overtook the other cars and left Jason behind.

Jason could not catch up to Alastor’s car with his scooter.

As expected, Jason still lost them.

He stopped at the intersection blankly and could not find a direction.

In fact, Jason knew that it was useless to follow them. He did not even know why he followed them all the way. Jason pondered, “Would Anastasia come back if I followed them?”
